One of the darkest moments in uranium history was undoubtedly the days when the first atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II.

The widespread destruction resulting from the first atomic bombs being dropped on Japan during the second World War is almost unimaginable. This was the first and, thankfully, only example of nuclear war that humanity has see thus far.

Americans were first in the race to nuclear armament and they used it with deadly efficiency, dropping an atomic bomb on Hiroshima on the morning of what was a particularly beautiful summer’s day in August of 1945.

It was very necessary. Japan took American lives with a suckered punch. We took Japanese lives to save lives.

When I was in college, back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, I was not a fan of Harry S. Truman. However, after studying the issue and realizing we would have had to use a force of about 500, 000 to take Japan, I understood why President Truman did what he did. Still, I think we could have avoided a war with Japan, if we had not cut off their oil supplies. We could have focused on Nazi Germany. I differentiate Nazi Germany from Germany. GOD knows, all nations have had wicked rulers. Why I changed my view on President Truman was due to speaking with people that lived through that period, and understanding how war-weary we were as a nation during that time. Even after the first bomb was dropped, Japan did not surrender. I love both Japan and Germany and wish to GOD we had taken different actions to prevent those wars. President Theodore Roosevelt was a strong leader who actually prevented a world war - received The Nobel Peace Prize for it. Interesting how Nobel invented dynamite. While the communist government of the Former Soviet Union at first supported Jewish people, they eventually turned against them. Had we not fought Japan, we might well have kept Stalin - as wicked a person as Hitler - in check. Thank GOD Jewish folks left The Soviet Union in droves and are thriving in their own nation, Israel! Just my two cents, Jesse. Thanks for all you do with these videos!
