We were learning this stuff in 6th and 7th grades, not 9th. That was well over a decade ago. Preparing students for a global economy? More like preparing them to use sticks and stones to perform basic arithmetic.

I did not learn that this year.. im in 9th grade.. we learned way much harder stuff that what was shown in the video.. I was not learned to use common core all my life so its really hard for most people in my school to understand and do the work.. I used to be great in math and no one had a major problem with "the old way".. common core gave me depression and aniexty.. one of the causes of it.. I feel stupid because I dont know how to solve the problems and my teacher said that we are learning 11th and 12 th grader stuff in 9th grade from common core... its not fare to the students that were fine with the old way of math.. and it was less stressful...

If you listen to this video they are asking the students to express the fairness in the prices of the ride and then they will have them right about the unfairness. They are teaching them to think like a socialist and express themselves using just emotion and not facts. This is not math.

I hate common core. I'm 14 and in 9th grade. I usually get 80's and low 90's for my grades. Math is the only subject now that I have a problem with. I have absolutely no idea what i'm doing. I just failed my first math quiz since 6th grade. Honestly I hope everyone fails, so the school is forced to make it much easier for us. It seems like half the kids mostly understand it and half barely at all. (I'm the second half). It's just so stressful.
