2017 Volkswagen Tiguan Review

My only complaint would be no blind spot monitor ... other than that, this is a terrific car and has lots of leg room - she is nuts.

Very poor review and lacking in knowledge. The car had a high crash test rating and is great to drive. If you want dumb aids like blind spot monitoring then so be it, but a quick sideways glance works for me every time.

I’m an owner of a 2017 VW Tiguan. Overall refinement is way above anything you will get in a Japanese competitor. The drive quality is very impressive and the engine is awesome and doesn’t come with a dreaded CVT which sucks the life out of any car. Four adults and a car seat fit well as I do this on a daily basis. The new Tiguan is bigger but it also has less horsepower and the interior quality isn’t as good as the older body style.

Horrible review. This is an excellent model that came out in 2008. It's also very safe. Look at IIHS crash test videos. This old model doesn't have the electronic aids since it came our almost ten years ago but the small overlap held up quite well for its age and dummy injury measures were not bad. It also still has the strongest roof in its class (in the test VW made it capable of holding more than 4 times its own worthy. In the test it didn't even crack the windshield. Watch the IIHS videos and you'll understand) and excellent moderate and side impact crash test ratings by the iihs. It's structure still beats out new competitors in terms of strength to this day. The new one will undoubtedly be better but that was just a bad review. The Tiguan here ages well, looks great, drives good and has great interior material quality. I'm not even a VW fan boy but I had to vent.

This is one of the most biased reviews I've seen on YouTube. Your own website reviewers give this vehicle 4.8 out of 5 stars. If you drive this and compared to the Nissan Rogue the Subaru Forester and the Honda CRV this vehicle has more power, more pickup and better handling which are all safety features. It is also quieter has higher quality paint and solid German feel. Anyone that would buy a Nissan Rogue, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson should have their head examined. If you buy a car because it has blind spot monitoring you really shouldn't be driving.

In my opinion, the Tiguan represents the core of driving. No gimmicks. Just the essentials, good handling, reliability all the necessary equipment (bt, cruise, ac, comfortable seats), but after all this is the previous gen model, the new one is better.

What a BS review. I'm 6'6" and have scads of legroom. You say prices begin at $26K, how then did we purchase ours at $23K? You say the engine is thirsty, how then do we achieve 29 mpg on our roadtrips? Even though this model is aging (nine years old) it stacks up quite nicely to what the others offer. I've never seen such a biased auto report in my life. Booo!

I just leased a 2017 Wolfsburg edition. Drive a Rav 4 and a CRV and then drive a Tiguan. There is NO comparison.

I think your pricing is a bit off, (in Canada) they start at 24 grand and the Wolfsburg edition is 30 grand. in Canada we pay about 30 percent more then the US because of our dollar so... coming from someone who has two Tiguans in their family, its pretty much a bigger GTI, its really fun to drive. the new version is going to be nice tho, but then at the same time VW dealers are giving good discounts on these. if someone is in the market for one and you just watched this video, go take one out for a test drive, I would say only about 40% of the negativity in this video is correct and just.

I honestly do believe that this was a very bad review. My intake, having done lots of research and recently owning one myself, is that most of the things she stated are wrong. There are many things that the Tiguan introduces that the competitors don't have. My sister drives a Ford escape and, compared to my Tiguan, is allot better. The Tiguan has lots of visibility and; what I love the most; Not touching gas pedals. Visibility mostly cover the safety features that other cars in the same class have. I know that they have incredible gas mileage and aren't 'thirsty.' They have the same safety ratings like most of its competitors and have immense loads of car room and cargo. I'm 5'11" and I can fit in my Tiguan just fine; most of my family is around my same height or taller. In all, I think the Tiguan is possibly the best car of its class and this review was very badly made. Thank you.

Bad review IMO. We just got a used 2017 Tiguan for my wife and she's a big fan. It has good leg room (I am 6'0"). Yeah it doesn't have lots of "utility" room but it's also a very small SUV thats considerably easier to city drive/park. Nice car overall.

Most BS review I have ever seen. Iam a big guy and I just purchased a 2017 because it had so much leg room. The car is mostly made in Germany and the quality is very good. Fun to drive with lots of power. And last great price.

Pft the Tiguan offers “less legroom” in my 2017 Tiguan exactly like this one, I am 6 feet 2 inches and fit comfortably in the front seat and backseat exactly how I have the seats set up (pretty far back). My knees aren’t even close to the seat. Awful review

A one side review is just bias...the good, the bad and the ugly. I don't like ford and Honda.
