In early 2020, UCLA’s LGBTQ Campus Resource Center added the letter “Q,” for “queer, to its name. People explain why they choose to describe themselves as “queer,” and how the word empowers feelings on inclusion.

It's obvious that the younger generation does not understand how derogatory that word is and how hateful the people were that used it ! I am 71 and bi and hate that word . The word queer was not a label you wanted hung on you !

You could literally just choose to be yourself and not worry about labels ... Maybe surpass the idea that youe gender is limiting and just do the things you want to do as individual.... These people are something else, plus they literally admit to not knowing themselves that well, how can you trust them to educate others on something THEYRE NOT EVEN ENTIRELY SURE OF

I think this may be a generational thing but to me the word queer is so divisive and I absolutely hate it

You cant "pick" your gender or sexuality because it feels bold as a polticial statement. 😂😂

Glad people feel inclusive by using this words. People are free to use whatever terms make them comfortable
It’s ironic though how terribly exclusive it sounds to me.
And such a bad sounding word in general that I’ll never use to describe someone.
