Resurfacing the Deck with Behr Deckover

Would only do this if about to flip the house and the deck was crap to start with. Actually did do this on a house I sold. Looked great during open house.

Left our deck a mess. Now I’m trying to peel it all with a putty knife so I can put down some regular stain. I’ve had to replace many rotted boards from the trapped moisture. Do not recommend for any deck exposed to the weather.

Don’t paint your decks people. The previous homeowners of my house did against the advice of the contractor. The paint sealed the water from rainstorms in and the wood rotted. I’m now redoing the whole deck.

I did not have good luck with this stuff. Looked great at first but got super hot in the sun and bubbled and started peeling off after a year.

I had no luck with Behr paint but excellent luck with Cabot deck correct . Make sure you prep wood properly and Do Not paint in direct sunlight. 👍

Did you sand at all ? Or just went straight over the old paint

Biggest mistake you could do with your deck. Product is junk. I did mine twice and it peels each year. Both times followed the directions to a t. Avoid this like the plague, I’m going to be trying to pressure wash my deck bolts so I can remove and replace all the deck boards as they are now rotted, due to this trapping moisture in!

Don’t do It sits on top of the wood and traps moisture underneath. The wood underneath then rots. It also peels off in flakes. I wish I had never used it

Looks good now but wait 1 year and the nightmare will be yours. Awful awful product!!
