HOW TO SAVE THE LIFE OF YOUR DECK

If your deck is a sad and run down as mine you know how much of an eye sore it can be. Just because your deck sucks now doesn’t mean it has to stay sucky. I seen online and in stores all these products that say they can restore your deck to like new condition. Like many I was skeptical as well as I knew how had of shape my deck was in but I decided whats the worse that could happen I couldn’t make the thing uglier so I set off to save my deck and I made a video to show how I did it so you can to. In all honesty I did think it would help however I did not expect it to turn out as good as it did. We do plan on sealing the deck when we pick a color and the deck has a few weeks of sunlight to totally dry but wow just sitting unfinished is a night and day difference. Below you will find links to everything I used so that you can get started on your deck this coming weekend. To do all this work to me 2 days so one could get this done in a weekend.

Sprayer

Behr all in one wood cleaner

Ryobi 3100-psi power washer

Scrub Brush

So basically you power washed the deck and your dad replaced the railing boards for the thumbnail. And here I thought you were gonna show me some way to revitalize that wood! 😂

I have no idea why people would put thumbs down on this, good job deck looks great. I would definitely recommend hitting it with some sort of sealer to keep it in perfect condition.

Good video. I learned one lesson from your experience. By now you probably figured out that would’ve been best to use that cleaner before you power washed. You would have saved some time there and perhaps somewhat more effective. Good job…

Had the same power washer troy built with Honda engine.
Had to rebuild the carb once and completely replace it another time due to gas jelling in the carb/float bowel

Yes. Great video. I was hoping you would have stained it and included that as well. Did you have any warped wood?

I thought it was the finished product at you got to the actual finished product. Was the wood still really wet? It looked gorgeous! I’m bummed that you didn’t stain your deck the color of the wet wood, cuz it looked awesome!

Did you not stain or seal the deck after all that work to restore it?

Once you start with a power washer, you are basically stuck using that procedure for the rest of the life of the surface down using 50 grit using a non circular sanding block (power driven) with Behrs all in one wood cleaner ....my deck surface now is smooth and NOW I only need to use a soft broom once a year using the cleaner and BAMB! Ready for a clear non loom oil sealer and "stain" this makes the deck easy to year by year keep. If you like ridges in the grain of your wood, then by all means, pressure was aways

Nice deck but its a little bare around it. Some nice landscaping and planters would help a bunch.
