In this video we talk about router tables so that you can make an informed decision if you're thinking about purchasing one. If you've already got one, you might learn something new so check it out.

Do you need a big heavy cast iron floor standing unit or would you be better off with a smaller benchtop router table? What's an insert plate? What's a lift? Should you build or buy? How do I know if I'm using it right? Can I just upgrade the router table I have?

Hey man, I watched about 5 videos before yours on Router's. You by far, did a better job. You told us what we needed to know, gave good comparison between the different types of routers and highlighted great points that we should be aware of. I walked away from your video knowing more than the other videos. Thanks!

As a new woodworker (been at it about 2 months), I was able to build my own router table pretty easily. It's not perfect or beautiful, but it works well and the only hardware I bought for it was a cheap Bosch table insert plate, 3-pack of throat inserts and a dust port fitting. I think making your own router table instead of going with one of these store-bought tables is a great learning experience. Don't buy what you can make yourself.

Good video, straight to the point. It answered a few questions I had recently and gave me a few ideas on what I want in my next router \ router table. Thanks!

I have the Kreg router table and a Jessem router lift. It works great. The only comment is that it isn't necessary, for the most part, for the fence to always lock down parallel to the table front or t-track. As long as you have the depth of cut and height of cut set it will always work.

Great video. The one thing that might improve it would be to not assume that the audience already understands all of the jargon/terms.

I am a beginner at woodworking. I'm getting to the point where I think I need a router table. Do you have any advice on what router table I should buy?
