To be clear, the GPU market isn't very profitable for anyone other than Nvidia and TSMC.

EVGA refused to compromise certain things, so their profit margins were a lot smaller.

Nvidia graphics cards were 80% of their revenue, but less than half of their profit. Who can blame them for wanting to get out of the game?

This is the right move for EVGA, the revenue made from graphics cards is utterly pointless if they are selling at a loss. I hope they move to making AMD and Intel cards, and that they enjoy far more freedom to create what they want.

It's always seemed, odd and somewhat anti-competitive, that Nvidia directly competed against their board partners. They control the pricing of the parts, control what the partners can do, AND directly compete against them while knowing (and somewhat controlling) what all the AIBs are doing. It reminds me of the anti-competitive stuff that's gotten Amazon in hot water as of late. TBH I'm surprised none of the regulators in the US or Europe have said anything about it or looked into it.

My first actual GPU was a EVGA 750ti that was an absolute beast for the time and money. I've bought their PSUs ever since, with probably at least 3 or 4 of their basic 500w PSUs along with a couple high end ones for my personal build. They've always had great deals for a great product, and of course great customer support the few times I had to deal with them.

I'll be buying an EVGA PSU to support them as I stand behind their choice.

I've always found myself buying EVGA cards. All of them have run great & still haven't died.

Absolutely love my EVGA 2080 SUPER FTW3. Going to miss their product line.

Hate to see EVGA leave the market, they were one of the few that attempted to get cards to actual people/gamers during the shortage at MSRP.

to be fair, i would absolutely pay more for an EVGA card if this means i get the best customer service.

AIB = 5-10% margin
NVidia = 50-55% margin

you forgot to mention that other companies building lower quality products and it's difficult for evga to keep quality and margin in nvidia's set price range

I Hope that AMD at least keeps prices for Radeon 7000 to what Radeon 6000 was. Considering they did a price cut on the current cards I think they are pulling a zen 4 where the prices are at least going to be around where last gen was in price. I could see the highest end card being a slight price cut from last gen but AMD needs to capitalize on NVIDIAs failings now

Its like everything else in the corporate world today, greed, pure unadulterated corporate greed. As far as I understand the issue with EVGA it was Nvidia saying "If you want to sell our new cards, you must buy this much of the last gen stock we have and sell it at a loss." and EVGA saying "Well, no thank you then. bye bye!"

I've never placed anything except EVGA graphics cards in my builds, and though I was saddened by this news, I get it. EVGA cards were a cut above the competition, and their prices were reasonable considering how reliable the cards were (and how good their customer service is). But it looks like EVGA's only options were to either cut corners like everyone else, or operate at a loss for who knows how long.... So I applaud the company for bowing out rather than selling out, and I'm gonna savor the heck out of my EVGA 3070 Ti for as long as possible.

I will definitely miss EVGA gpus. I love their brand. I will definitely support them through other parts though any chance i get.

EVGA power supplies are great, I hope they keep up the good quality.

Imagine if EVGA just starts working with Intel's new GPU branch? That would be a hilarious way to get back at Nvidia.

I used to be a fan of BFG. They had a great lifetime warranty, until they no longer existed.
