Simply picking your champion isn't enough, this guide covers how to proper use champion select to increase your chance of winning.

once i banned zed not realising that my mid laner wanted to play zed. he then banned my vayne in revenge, and we ended up picking kassadin ans cait. when the game started i realised i was lagging and if i had gone vayne, I would probably have fed, so it was probably good that she was banned. halfway through the game, our midlaner said that it was probably a good thing i banned zed cause he had no idea how to play zed. so we ironnically ended up helping each other out.

You're right. It doesn't matter who picks who from bronze to gold because they autolock Yasuo 99.9% of the time.

Your fifth point is really good. I have beaten every lane bully, even Teemo, in lane as Nasus just by knowing the champion and the matchups.

Great video, Scrap. I was wondering, though, and have a question about jungle. More specifically, how I'd go about learning to play it well. I'm a Top / ex-Mid main who's gotten fed up with the lane meta (save for Top, because it's the role I feel I perform best in and enjoy) looking to try to learn and play jungle effectively. I was wondering if you ever planned on making a video on how to get started with that sort of thing or if you could send any tips my way. Thanks again for another fantastic video; these are a lot shorter and more informative than some of your older ones, which I've also gone back and watched over the course of a few months. Great content, man. Keep up the good work.

The counter point you mentioned is why I give 0 fucks when someone picks teemo or renekton into Nasus (my main). Everytime I see teemo especially, I know that's exactly what they are doing, and I just laugh because now that E max is actually good in laning phase, Teemo isn't even a counter anymore.

This gave me a little swell of pride tbh. As a support main, I've learned over time that composition is everything. When I load into a game and our team consists of like a Yasuo Top, a ziggs mid, an eve jungle, and a jhin adc, I know that I'm going Braum or Alistar. I take a good bit of pride knowing that I keep, at least to some degree, to these rules.

I didn't know you could sort the champions by class on the the old client! That's really useful since I prefer the old client to the new one. By the way, the new client has some buttons built in to sort the champions by classifications. They're shaped like class icons in the champ select.

you can also use | to show each individual champ you type in

I'd say top is easier to hard-counter than mid.

I am a main support in Bronze (last season Silver) and I don't understand why support should be picked before ADC because I really like to counter pick and I never see ADCs counter picking.

About your video, was nice but.. in Silver, right now.. like in every other elo there are trolls in every single game.
First off, people don't look at what others want to pick and just ban (though it's a lame excuse since you have to be blind not to see) or jjust ban it on purpose because they hate that champion thus tilting the top or jungle or whichever lane from the champ select.
About the roles, I agree but, there are players that get auto filled on support or whichever other role, get angry about it, ask for another lane but when offered the lane they asked for they simply insta lock a champion randomly (Ahri support for example) and just troll the game away because somehow the team is to blame that they got auto filled, pretty silly but yeh.
About the counters. They don't really exist, at least not for me. A counter is actually the skill of the player on that champion. For example I'm playing Renekton top, am pretty good with him and can play most match-ups but, 2 times I got crushed by champions that according to various sites, I counter.
Though I have to say that I have seen people browsing through their entire champion list before locking onto 1 certain champ. It's fun to see it, really xD.
