So how does game work now? I stopped playing it when it was set in the Kelvin universe, but I keep seeing them add all of these prime universe characters and ships. Did they jump universes in the game and suddenly make it set in the prime universe?

Worst money hole game ever!
If you are the first to hit level 23 be prepared to spend $100 to play those Armada's they sell you on the commercials. The real slap in the face is they got rid of the $20 pack that solved this chicken and egg problem.
