Sekiro’s combat and overall gameplay are still unrivaled. Truly a masterpiece

The linearity of Sekiro allowed for more a focused gameplay style. Because they don’t have to cover as much technical areas with the rpg element with souls games.

Sekiro is by far the best among these. Better combat, movement, skills and a much nicer character. Epic bosses like Butterfly, Ishin, the Ape and Monk. Great level design, very beautiful backgrounds. A true GOTY!!!

Sekiro is really a different Souls experience, maybe also the best Souls game of all time.
I was really surprised when From decided to use Dark Souls/Bloodborne as the template for Elden Ring instead of it.

As great as Elden Ring is, the combat feels tighter and more integrated in Sekiro.

The graphics and art style in Sekiro is still the best among FromSoft games in my opinion. The blurry landscapes, the foggy environments gives the game a perfect atmosphere, I'm also a sucker for those trees and sakura blossoms (True Monk boss area is just *chef's kiss*).
I think other the Souls' aesthetics are too "clean"... I can't really explain it, but something in Sekiro just makes the whole game a moving painting, I don't really see it in Elden Ring... maybe because I'm not a big fan of open world so sometimes I cannot notice... I don't know...
It would be awesome if FromSoftware managed to successfully recreate the atmosphere in Sekiro but in a different theme and aesthetic!

Sekiro is easily the best From game to date. The combat was masterfully done paced incredibly well. It is a giant shame that From did not carry that combat system over to Elden ring and still allow for different weapons.

While Elden Ring is great, it really is just another carbon copy of Dark Souls. Just with large open world and thats it.

Sekiro is best game for sure. Elden Ring is amazing, but during entire playthrough I couldn't help to constantly miss features from Sekiro. And the bosses in Sekiro are not giants where you have crazy camera, but are usually similar size to you so you can actually see what they are doing.

Overall Sekiro is just more fun game to play in my opinion with much more fair bosses and you actually have to get good to beat it, instead of just cheesing bosses like in Elden Ring through varius OP weapons and spells :P

Sekiro and Bloodborne have the best settings in all of fromsoft games IMO. They look beautiful. Sekiro has the best gameplay. The best thing about Elden Ring is the open world and amount of content.

I love Sekiro so much! Is the first FromSoftware game that I played on PS4 and platinum. Hard start, hard end. A true challenge!

I love Elden Ring for other reasons why I love Sekiro. The world building and architecture and construction of Elden Ring is phenomenal and the world is just so full of mystery and inviting to explore. You constantly have these WOW effects. Of course, Sekiro also has a great thematic world, but it just doesn't come close to Elden Ring. On the other hand, Sekiro has a fantastic combat system and great boss fights. The boss fights in Elden Ring are far less spectacular and although the combat system in Elden Ring is more versatile and Sekiro tells you more how to play, it is a completely different experience and better in Sekiro. In Elden Ring you improve your character, in Sekiro you improve yourself.

Sekiro was an amazing experience. The level design with the beautiful graphics and immersive locations matched with the enemies and the difficult and charming bosses it made sense why the game was a GOTY.

So far I'm thoroughly enjoying Elden Ring ; To me it feels like a combination of all the Soulslikes but more so with the elements of Sekiro and Dark Souls 3 !
