I don't think Sekiro is harder than Elden Ring, but that's mostly because Sekiro demands you play its way, while Elden Ring let's you build around it.

Elden Ring has better Lore, Exploration, Visuals, etc. But Sekiro has better Gameplay, Characters, Boss Fights and Replayability. And who can forget the Mikiri counter and Deflect system

After playing sekiro i am not able to play any other game. The combats are too slow for me.
