Here is an essential takeaway from the book "The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck" for all of you dyslexics out there. From Mark Manson, we learn that "The exception of a negative experience is a positive experience..." This leads us, dyslexics, to the question, what about our dyslexia should we be more accepting about? Well, we should definitely accept those elements that will not change no matter how hard we work. So in this video, we take a closer look at the development of reading and writing skills in the life of a dyslexic.
Holding on to the desire to write flawlessly or to read as fast as non-dyslexics might do us more harm than good--Especially in the case of adult dyslexics.

🙋🏼‍♂️ My name is Arije, and I am a dyslexic with an MA in Education Studies. I aim to share all my tips for learning, coping, teaching, and more on my channel. For dyslexics, educators, and parents alike, I want to make videos that inform and inspire you to reframe dyslexia.

Thank you for your videos! I’m 30 years old and have struggled with dyslexia and dyscalculia my whole life. I just went back to school and the math is literally giving me migraines lol. One of the most difficult parts of it is trying to explain to people why I am having such a difficult time learning math. Your videos are encouraging because I see that I am not the only one dealing with this.

I have accepted that I’ll write a lot of mistakes but I still have to deal with a lot of negativity from other people. Especially when it comes to the Dutch famous dt rule.

You know, there are some things we can change in life and other things we just can’t. And the more we try to change unchangeable things, the more miserable we make ourselves. I can really relate to this.

hmm, interesting, I have had that book thrown in my face so many times since it came out, I just may have to read it now that you have mentioned it. I've pretty much excepted this problem(dyslexia), I just didn't ever have a name for it or know the extent to which it really is/was effecting my life in general. It's good to know now and the past cannot be changed so I just keep moving forward. Thanks for the info!

Hiya! I am so glad I came across your page today. Super grateful for your channel really good tips. I am really interested about writing succinct, concise and synthesising! It’s not easy esp in employment space. How can I overcome this if possible?

If I don't make mistake and or struggle then I wouldn't be dyslexic. I totally accept it.
I think it the understanding about it and the impact it had I think I worry about.

Hy I am from indai. My profession is digital illustrator. But no one subject cant be covered without theory. My life is full of confusion. Iam 25 year old I still suffering from heavy dyslexia. 😔 I read 1 to 2 line paragraph twice then understand. I start crying inside when I read and write because same time I read wrong, wrong pronounce also Ex_ WHO___I pronounce HOW, some time 65478 I pronounce 56478. When I feel my self mentally handicapped. I know that all about phonic but I still misspel the words. My 6 hours of study is equal to 1 hours of oter person. I didn't have spacial educator in school nd clz life. Because there is no awareness in indai. I know all about the work but I forgot the tool what i used, when i face new person i can't write in front of him. My experience is full of anxiety....how to deal with dyslexia. 😑
