The soft, affectionate way Colin Baker delivered "Don't know. Shall we find out?" shows that his Doctor has grown. We actually saw hints of this softer side in his first story, even though it was overshadowed by his regeneration trauma and confusion as well as the scene where he tried to strangle Peri in a fit of madness. It's so unfortunate that he never completed his character arc onscreen. If not for Michael Grade sabotaging the show, Colin Baker would be one of the most celebrated Doctors.

It’s quite amazing how quickly you can forget just how funny and lovely this pairing is.

When you think of 6 and Peri, most people immediately think of the strangling scene and Peri’s ‘death’, but in between there were lots of very cute moments of fun banter and charm between them.

The way they both seem to enjoy playfully teasing each other is actually remarkably similar to the way we’d later see modern doctors act with their companions
