The clip feel of these US HT Components HT X2 pedals could kind of be described as somewhere in between that of the positive click of Shimano with slightly less float than the Crank Brothers Mallets. They come with the added strength of a fully alloy outer shell, replaceable shoe-grip pins, and a nice, wide platform. There is a much more âtrail specificâ smaller version, but Jim chose the larger platform of the X2 for racing in the UKâs wet conditions, as these can be ridden clipped out in some of the slickest of conditions.

These took a bit of getting used to, as the clip-in feel isnât quite as positive as the Shimano, but Jim has grown to love these pedals for racing and trail riding alike. After four months of use a small bit of the yellow paint has been chipped off as expected, but their performance is still as good as the day they were fitted. They come with tri-sealed bearings and a DU bush on each side to keep the dirt out, and are available in a wide-ranging eleven different colours.
