Ah yes, a Desert Eagle, truly a normal pistol to have a family heirloom. Not Grandpa's Colt 1911 he used in WW2 or Korea, not S&W revolver that your great uncle used when he was a cop in the 60s, not a Beretta m9 from your brother who was in Iraq in the 90s, a Desert Eagle, the pistol that's only ever bought as a novelty for rich collectors, youtubers and rappers. And you keep it in a wooden box, in your closet, with no lock.

It's surprising how much of this is actually true. I am a certified firearms instructor and if I am handed a gun I don't own, I always check it for cracks or barrel obstructions or anything that might cause a problem if the gun is fired. Not everybody takes care of their stuff. Trust, but verify.
