I've seen videos where dogs make no "alert" at all. But, because they want to search, the handler says the dog "hit" on the vehicle. The dogs are just tools they use to violate our rights.

To all cops: You want your respect back? THEN EARN OUR TRUST BACK! End qualified immunity! Make each officer personally liable! As long as you fear integrity and accountability, you are NOT the good guys! It's POS TYRANTS like this that prove it.

Sniffer dogs are only about 20% - 25% accurate, but they are seen as 100% by most courts. This has to change. All agencies that use dogs for contraband sniffing must document both their successes and their failures. If a dog fails x amount of times then it's time for retraining and a fresh handler, if it continues to falsely indicate then they must be decommissioned.

Can't cross examine a dog in court, so nothing from a dog should be allowed as evidence or as probably cause.

“9 times out of 10” the dogs are wrong, according to the cop. If something has a 90% failure rate, why would you keep using it? The police have always known that drug dogs are merely a mechanism to skirt around our 4th Amendment rights that can almost never be challenged in court.

It’s infuriating for a person, particularly Law Enforcement, to hold you against your will on the side of the road and interrogate you with personal questions for 10 plus minutes when you exhibit no objective evidence of breaking the law. Why do they feel entitled to your personal life even asking here about his wife and mother when it’s clearly not a friendly casual encounter. If you invoke your 5th Amendment right to silence you’re suspicious. If you answer every question, as this driver did here, he’s still deemed as suspicious as the officer tells the K9 handler if you watch the full video.

Oh trust me, the K9 handlers know exactly what they are doing. They are trained to make the dog alert. I know this because a friend (K9 officer) used to make his dog alert on me and even my refrigerator ! He would laugh and explain that they use that for a ticket to search anything they want, anytime they want. As for "finding" something that wasn't there five minutes earlier.. I'll let you figure that out.

I saw the full video. The cop claimed he pulled him over for driving over the fog line. The man had his own dash cam, proving that was false. So this is even worse that it seems.

Revenue agents are not your friend. They are always looking for different ways of violating citizens' rights through "compliance". Do not talk to them. Always record them. Know your rights and never surrender them to these clowns. Lawsuit settlements need to come from retirement funds. Not tax payer dollars.

We did this to ourselves. For a fat fifty years we gave up our rights for the war on pot "people". Honestly this is the world we chose to live in. Now it's happening to us and there was no one left to speak up for us.

So, after the dog 'alert' and the ensuing search turned up negative the cop said, "9 times out of 10 this is what happens."
Wait! Nine out of 10 K9 alerts turn out to be false?
Why are they using dogs at all?
What's the point?

I know firsthand of the following: in a 4 man room in an Army barracks there was hashish in one locker several hours before MP's came through with their dogs for a "Health and Welfare" check; the hash was removed 90 minutes before the MP's arrived. The dog in this room never "hit", or indicated. In another room where all the soldiers were clean a dog hit on one of their lockers, even though there had never been anything there. The dogs cannot be trusted.

The dog handler teaches the dog to alert on command to give them probable cause.

He didn’t articulate the suspicion, just mentioned vaguely “things, ” which makes extending the stop till the K-9 unit gets there unlawful on its face. Screw the dog, the cops are breaking the law long before that.
