What people don't realize about deadlifting is u shouldn't focus on lifting the bar. U should focus on pushing the ground away as u hold the bar. That helps to maintain proper form.

Please listen to his warning, my low back is still tight from deadlifting like a jacka** in my early 20s( im in my mid 30s now). Im sure i messed something up but every time i went to the e.r or see a chiropractor they said i was fine.

Luckily for me this injury hasn't effected my progress in the gym much and i was still able to work my deadlift up to 500lbs 2 years ago and now currently working my way back to it.

Some days my low back is better than others and what ive personally have been doing to keep it from getting worse is a full gym session of yoga stretching and foam rolling.

As a guy who's in huge pain cuz of disk pressure on the nerve i recommend you to listen to this guy before you will start feeling 8/10 pain with every step and even sleeping for hours will become a privilege

The reason a round back is peoples go to is because not only does put work from the muscles onto the discs, but also because of the leverages cuz a rounded lets you grag the bar with less hip hinge, making it a semi rack/block pull.

It is also doesn't just harm the spine, but because you are exposing your lumbar spine to loads it cant handle leading to snapping in many cases.

That first one has to be a joke. The hair, the ability to basically bent over row the weight from the knees, then can’t even deadlift it? Gotta be a joke

Honestly the amount of skill and technique required to safely dead lift has turned me off of the exercise entirely. I'd rather do things movements that do the same muscle groups for way less risk.

Even the guy who is demonstrating is doing it incorrectly, he needs to drop his butt lower that way he can drive from his heels through his legs into his glutes. He curves his back and engages his glutes without engaging the rest of his legs.

When your deadlift setup is all wobbly, loose and shaky, pretty much your reps will be the same

That kid with the headphones made me realize that there is a serious problem in the gym. Gyms should require a license to lift weights without a licensed trainer.

My biggest tip for this exercise is “submit your ego” form over how much you lift. If you cannot control it on the way down with proper form, you’re going too heavy. Lower the weight. Then when you can do it under control 3sets of 5. Add 5Ibs. The tortoise always wins at the end .
