*UPDATE - I called the vet and asked them to proceed with surgery if he’s stable enough. Paralysis is no reason to decide quality of life no longer exists. I’ve had plenty of animals that required assistance and went on to have incredible lives, despite being only partially mobile. I had a friend reach out and inform me that cats are incredibly “vertical” creatures and can continue a healthy happy life even if the back legs don’t function. The vet didn’t want me to “wast money” on this case, knowing it was a slim chance, and said that money could go to other animals that have a better chance. That’s not how my rescue works. We don’t pinch pennies and only give hope to the ones with “for sure” outcomes. We handle the shit that crosses our path, and finish what we started.

If this kitten makes it thru the weekend, surgery is Monday. Keep him in your prayers, we are rooting for him to pull thru❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

**2nd UPDATE: We found a special needs rescue in Colorado that has offered to take him❤️unfortunately the vet where he is getting treatment is closed on the weekends, so altho staff is there, their phones are shut off. I have no way of checking on him😩the tech said if I didn’t hear from her, all was going well… please keep sending all your good vibes to this little dude!!! Let him know we are all rooting for him!!! ***3rd UPDATE: He didn’t make it😭 I’m so sorry you guys. I’m devastated, we had so many great people lined up on standby ready to bring this little guy home. The vet tech called a few minutes ago, and said he did pretty good last night, not so hot this morning, and just like that, he took his last breath… she was so kind and helpful, and was so thrilled we were wanting to take him all the way, she had high hopes as well. His little body just couldn’t hold on💔thank you guys for rallying for him, I know he felt our love, and left here, warm, medicated and loved. He didn’t have to die alone and scared. Sky and her sister Heaven(my young team of rescuers)decided to name him Oneiros, Greek for “Dream”. Sky and Heaven are only 15 and 20 years old… 2 weeks ago, Heaven had a dream of a kitten dragging itself down the road, because it’s back legs weren’t functioning. Sky had a similarly eery dream about another animal- when we spoke, I told the girls to just be extra aware of their surroundings. I didn’t know what the dreams meant, but they were heavily in tune with something, and to just keep their eyes “extra” open… the more I think about it now, the more I think the girls are vibrating deep deep unwavering compassion, and the ones in need will find their way to them. Rest easy little Oneiros, you are still so loved 🌈 ♥️

Reach Out to The Kitten Lady! I feel she's prolly the most well known kitten fosterer/rescuer on YT. I think she even did a video about a paralyzed kitten she fostered. You should try contacting the kitten lady. She has dealt with much worst cases and definitely knows what to do. If you could get a hold of her she could be a big help. Hope this helps!

There’s a really brilliant vet in south of England, Surrey or Suffolk or some place sounding like that & he has invented ways of fixing cats & dogs spines & pelvises with bionics & fixes a lot of other wildlife too.!He’s a magician at these operations & the bowels have mostly come back too if they can be given some early water therapy & physio.!He treats cancers & has all the facilities.He also has one of those chambers that divers use that get animals right sooner.!!He takes animals from all over the world.Has fixed up police Dogs too.!He’s so kind & great with all animals, look him up.!!!

Everyone saying this is cruel have you not seen how many paralyzed cats have amazing lives?
Even on social media there’s a plenty of paralyzed cats that can run, chase, some of them can even jump.
I think this kitten has a wonderful quality life ahead of it IF the surgery goes well

Assuming the kitten is not in pain I agree that its life is worth saving. Animals do not experience disability in the same way that humans do. They are far more accepting and adaptable. They can have rewarding lives and can teach us a lot about values and purpose and love.

when I was growing up my dog broke his back jumping towards a tree anyway he was dragging his legs and my mom worked with him for months, he was dragging his back legs for weeks but eventually learned to walk again and even run...he went to the bathroom without knowing it so he never regained that control fully but the vet said he would never walk again and he should be put down....anyway nothing is impossible and all my mom did was brace him and move his legs in a kind of dog physical first he was so depressed he tried to go off and die but he eventually realized we weren't ready to give up on him and he started fighting too. His name was Wolfe and he was a Norwegian Elkhound, he had a long happy

My heart just aches. I firmly believe these special baby's are put here as our teachers & if we open our hearts & minds to them they will teach us everything we need to know to be better humans. I'm so sorry he didn't make it but he left knowing what it felt like to be loved & have his very own name. Bless you for all you do for so many animals. ❤

My cat was attacked by two dogs last month. They broke her spin and the vet told me the exact same thing and wanted to put her down. I said no I wanted to save her but her temperature and blood pressure started dropping and they couldn’t get her back warmed her and her veins was so thin that they couldn’t put iv in. So unfortunately I had to put her down. Her body couldn’t get over the shock of what happened. She was a pregnant rescue that I saved off the streets. Lost the babies too. Honestly one of the worse days ever. # ripBoots.
