At my CrossFit, we are having a PR chart for movements in Crossfit. Each 6 weeks, we will start something new and go each week all the way up to our PR. Deadlift is one of my favorites and is what are doing today at Crossfit.

my lower back has been hurting quite a bit after dead lifting, I think I need to work on keeping my lumbar curve maintained and my flexibility. I think if people focused more on good technique they would progress further in the deadlift. Before any crossfit haters pounce, I have not personally attended any crossfit classes. I've learnt mostly from youtube fitness channels.

Looks hyper extended with excess arching when it goes to the side view. For anyone else starting out Id suggest sliding a yardstick down your back and tucking it into your waistband. One end in waistband, one end on head, when going through the lift motion your back should not touch the yardstick. Should help with noticing hyper extension and arching/rounding.

the deadlift is called the deadlift because if you drop it or something goes wrong your dead or permanently injured.
