Pro tip:keep your headphones at half volume, take all your mixer tracks to zero, set your master anywhere from -6 to -12db. Pull the mixer tracks up to level from there, and ensure your sounds are clear, then turn your master back up. Perfect levels and tons of headroom

Correct. One thing to add, it's better to gainstage your parts before the fader. Faders often change their increment values part way down, halving their resolution.

Another advantage of that is that you avoid internally clipping plugins

You’re master limiter ceiling is supposed to be -1db and everything else needs to be gain staged around -14 LuFS. Something something something processing and rendering something something science. Don’t turn your ceiling up

turning it up is not great advice in my expierience. everything is too loud you cant hear the individual elements so you start wanting everything to he louder.
