If it's safe and reliable it's worth it. If you are new to the sport and don't have $10k - $15k there is nothing wrong with cheap stuff, just make sure you have a knowledgeable person inspect it thoroughly. At the end of the day safety is the most important thing but once you're up in the air it doesn't matter if you have a fancy expensive model or an older inexpensive model. Congratulations and safe flying !!!!

If you find a cheap motor, feel free to call them for advice and training on it as well!

That photographer is telling all of his buddies that he sold his book to some Americans for $1250 plus some “stuff” that he had laying around. 😂 Either way, you both come out winners. Always nice to have a friend to fly with. 🪂🪂

1st comment. Getting into PPG on the cheap, fun and still safe. All thanks to Mark Huneycutt. Thanks for the help, thanks for all the free advice and tips / tricks and of course the fun filled friend adventures. You're the man Mark!

That was actually one of the most informative videos you've produced Mark. Thanks to you & friend!

I spent 4 years wishing I could afford a setup. Then I found a wing and motor combo for 4k. 3 years later (last summer) I upgraded my wing to a sirocco2. It's been alot of fixing but even more fun. If you want to fly there are ways.

Sounds like a berserk sewing machine but hey, the price & small fixes make it worth it. LOL
Thumbs up for Todd on the sunrise launch & getting into PPG for minimal coin. I bought new equipment because I wanted my first 100 hours to be all about flying and not fixing. Always good to have options for getting into the air.

Thanks for your service! Hopefully you'll be home soon.

What a cool story! A paramotor with character! And just goes to show how accessible the sport can be if you’re willing to put in the work. Great vid Mark! 👍

its great to be in the right place at the right time. Excellent score, Todd! (My first wing, a Sigma 7, was around $400.)

I got one for $200, including 2 harnesses, wing, helmet, radio and 4 qts of 2 stroke oil. Middle aged woman in a Cadillac SUV, not sure if it was a concerned mom, wife, or pissed off ex, she just wanted it gone :-)

This video made me decide. I’ve started in this sport with a beautiful ROS125 too!

If I were to search for a paramotor for a similar price, what recommendations would you give (open ended question for anyone to answer)

What a cool story behind this paramotor. Really nice of him to sign and give you the picture book. I guess all of our paramotor have a story and a history behind them. Great story.

You make a good point, Mark.  Lorran gives good advice on the sport.  I just recently started flying with a guy locally and naturally thought a paramotor is a paramotor is a paramotor.  Wrong!  We got out to the LZ and got low on fuel.  Naturally, I thought they were all the same, like weedeaters, and outboard motors, etc.  Each manufacturers oil mixing requirements are different.  I think on our P.APs it is 67:1?  I contacted Lorran and he set me straight.  Great video!

The reason for the twist bit (when on the throttle) is because the two hang points are close to the center. If you put them out further apart, you'd have less twisting.
