I'm surprised paramotors are still largely unknown, it's the coolest thing ever. You can basically FLY with a device that costs a few thousand dollars, and it's not as hard as learning how to fly a plane or helicoptor. I guess the only limiting thing is where you live and if you have open fields like this.

The landscape looks beautiful with the view from above.

Anyone who wants to learn more about the regulations that govern ultralight vehicles, you can look up 14 CFR Part 103, which is section of rules that regulate ultralights (and is also sometimes used as a shorthand for ultralight aircraft).

A lot stricter here in Germany. You cannot simply start or land anywhere you want, no matter how spacious. You need a license and an official airfield or private meadow that has been licensed under strict conditions with annual/semiannual renewal, as well as a semiannual inspection for your wing. A reserve parachute is mandatory, as well as radio for any potential flight control checks. And you need to be strictly aware about the abundant no-fly and restriction zones in the area you want to fly in.
EDIT: speaking of privately owned meadows, in most german states, you won't get them licensed even if you fulfill all the requirements as the states won't permit it. And the airfields rarely tolerate paragliders

What happens if you let go of the handle behind you?

Absolutely. Just need to take classes. Can't go above a certain height

You can also fly ultralight aircraft such as the mini max and the aerolite 103 in most of the states without a pilot’s license too, correct?

But I need a 'license' to fly a drone?

People try and make this look so safe and carefree the problem is paramotoring is extremely dangerous

I've been flying GA planes for 28 yrs, paragliding 35 yrs, nobody has ever came up to me and asked to see my pilots license at an airport, but I've been asked and bullied at paragliding launch sites to see a license, ones a real aircraft, ones a toy 😂

In your opinion, if you were trapped in a dense city, can you train to paraglide in the city or do you need a lot of empty space?

Do you need any license to fly a tandem trike? Obviously training but are any licenses or certifications required? If so, what is the cost?

You should specify that this info is only valid for the US and check with local authorities lol... In Canada, ultralights require an ultralight licence, with the corresponding type annotation (for paramotor, in this case. If you want to fly an airplane-style ultralight, for example, you will need the correct annotation as well)

It would be cool if I use that to fly to work
