The vendor buyback thing can also be used for exclusive items if one drops in a quest. You can throw your inventory one away, loot the new one, the move the new looted one into the bank and go to the vendor and buy back the one you threw away.

You can use the trash feature to get exclusive items that allow only for one like thre silverflame necklace and the emerlad claw necklace you can have one or the other but if you destroy your silverflame or emerald claw necklace you then can get the trinket from the other guy and then do cursed crypt three times to upgrade it to the full nekclace and then put it in the bank and then get the buyback for the other and now you can carry both in inventory and have both.

Just a point of information.

You can use spirit cake in quests not raids and you can use them while your death timer is still active. The cakes are the only way to do so while the timer is active
