If not Judas, it would have been someone else. Jesus knew it would be Judas. He knew his mission, his purpose, and he still loved Judas because he also knew he was fulfilling the hardest role of all, to betray him, and then took his own life in grief. It had to be. Judas did not know what Jesus knew.

Love the message in the end. I forgive my wife's betrayal, I forgive my father and I forgive myself. Prince of peace prevail in our lives.

For me the sad thing about Judas was the despair he experienced after his betrayal 😔 He displayed the fact that he just didn't get the fact that Jesus/God loved him and no matter what would forgive him when he expressed his true sorrow for his actions. Judas was lacking in his trust of the forgiving nature of God. My hope is that at some point before his soul left his body God gave him one last chance to ask for forgiveness.

We are like Judas in so many ways if we are honest about this.

I am an old man who has trouble remembering names--even those who are my relatives. After I stumbled across this website I determined to come up with a mnemonic device to help me remember Brother Brandon's name: I am a new arrival to Texas, so I picture a cowboy chasing a flock of robins with a brandin' iron. As silly as that is, it works! I so appreciate your contribution to my understanding of the gospel of Christ. May His blessings continue to flow to you and through you, Cowboy!.

Jesus I need you to love me and forgive me because I’ve fallen short so much.

Judas was an instrument and simply fulfilled his role. Our Lord knew all along his fate. He accepted it none the less.

It is forgiveness and unconditional love that separates Jesus from all others. This should be an inspiration to all including non-believers.

With all the years that I have taught Old and New Testament whether in 7th or 8th grades or with adult bible study, I have always felt that in the last micros-second of life Judas could have sought forgiveness of the Lord. That's my perspective as a priest and the message of forgiveness taught by Jesus [Lord's Prayer]. I'm now in my 80s and have had some of the finest Scripture teachers.

My mentor once said to me, "Trust the ripple!" Because of THE CHOSEN I came across your channel. I'm learning so much more than I expected.

Someone had to betray Jesus...Judas goes to the temple and throws the coins and says he has betrayed an innocent man, Jesus still loved Judas, as you said...I am ashamed of my past sins and transgressions but so very grateful that Jesus has forgiven me and cleansed my soul! Thank you for your lessons!

I love psalm 41:9 Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me.

As weird as it sounds, I truly do feel terrible for Judas. He was a man who wanted to be righteous, but unfortunately, made a terrible, terrible, mistake. I do not know if it is wrong to pray for Judas's salvation, but I do try from time to time, because our God is a merciful God, he is not evil, wicked, or mean.

And The Lord actually Honored Judas at the last supper, when He gave him the sop...
Mind boggling, humanly speaking.
Just recently came across your channel. I love the teachings, and when you break down info on The Chosen that I don't know as being a grafted in gentile.
Thank you.
Peace and Grace 💗✝️🕊🕎✌

Judas...seemed....to be sold out for money..30 pieces of silver...but he threw them back...wasnt too sold out for money...was he?! Amen brother, I always was led to understand, , that Judas, taking his own life, was an act of someone who was grieving, for what he did, and what happened..Thank you, awesome info., and vid

i am very curios how Dallas Jenkins will show us his interpretation of Judas...since we have seen almost all disciples (Bartholomew is maybe identical to Nathanael, right?) with their personal conflicts and humanity, Judas must be a profound character...I know it sounds incredible, but "the Chosen" IS an INCREDIBLE series....

God bless you, Brandon.

Greetings from Germany.

Jesus loved Judas. Judas loved Jesus. The others disciples didn't fully understand what Jesus's life meant until much later, neither did Judas. Each took a different path leading up to their understanding. Knowing he hurt Jesus led him to take his own life. He returned the blood money, washed his hands of the betrayal in the presence of the High Priest and was devastated to the point he took his own life. I hope and pray that in those last moments he cried out to God and voiced his shame and regret. If he, in any way, asked for forgiveness, I believe that God would have forgiven him. Jesus looked down from the cross and forgave. I've always wondered if Judas was on his mind at that moment. How could he not have been? Asking for forgiveness and meaning it, and still being so desperate that one could take their life, is still a strong possibility in this life. In other words, he could have been forgiven by God and still so crushed that he couldn't keep on living. I hope I see him in Heaven.

I feel like Judas is a reflection of a family member or a loved one who continually sins but at the same time we understand and still love them.

Saved or not, if God has a purpose for someone, it will be done. Just ask Jonah. Judas had a vital part to play. Jesus had to die on that cross for all of us and Judas had to help get him there. Mankind's only hope for Salvation depended on it.

After re-reading this, I clearly overstated the importance of Judus' role. The Crucifixion was going to happen with or without his involvement.
