We grow these every year. They are super easy to grow and bloom for a very long time. You will love them!

Mexican Sunflower is a most welcome plant in my garden. Mine grew to 8 feet tall and one summer day, I counted 11 Monarch butterflies, 1 giant tiger swallowtail, 2 hummingbirds and many bees and smaller insects. In late summer early fall, the goldfinches come for the seeds. I will always grow this plant in my garden! The lower foliage turns raggedy thru the season so be sure to plant some kind of 2 foot tall flowers in front. My purple Cosmos looked lovely there.

I was hoping to save seeds from my tithonia, but they were taking too long to dry. Thanks for showing us how. I'm also in zone 5b, and like you I like to get an early start on my garden cleanup. I've experienced doing it in the cold and rain, and don't want to do that again.

From NZ. Question is when sowing seeds, do you just scatter them onto the garden and lightly cover. Or do seeds need to be planted in pots to take first? Love watching your vids. Thanks
