Loved the video! In SC zone 8a.
From seed, I planted Ferry Morse Orange Mex. Sunflower last yr. It became massive, so I cut it down. It quickly regrew to be even larger!
I saved the seeds & planted this yr. in perfect location. The plants are massive 8 ‘ tall, but no blooms.
Looks like weed trees. I’m getting ready to chop them down. I understand the plant is high in nitrogen & makes great compost.
-I’ll have to look for the type you have next yr.

We also, discovered about this new flower, as we planted this particular ball of seeds from my husband's work, International Fest at the Gathering Place Park I think it was late June in our huge containter ... we didn't know what this ball of seeds we were planting... as it start growing only this particular plant start growing taller and wilder that we had to planted by the fence. We didn't know what is was!! So my husband took this picture and ask the gardener at the park and told us - it's MX Sunflower!! We love it!! And the 2nd flower from the ball of seed bloomed (common Zinnas) of pinkish colors.
Thank you Redsoil Gardener for teaching me how to harvest the seeds, so we can plants more. God bless!!

Nice tutorial. So you just scatter the seeds in soil and you don't cover them with soil? Thanks. 😊
