Whipping up a special lotion / cream today, specifically made for the face and eye areas. This formula does thicken up to a wonderful fluffy consistency within 24 hours of making. And the final pH of this cream is 5.

13 % Hard Butters of choice
6 % Emulsifying Wax
64 % Water or Aloe juice (or combo)
2 % Glycerin (optional)

cool down phase is 1% of total volume:
1 % Optiphen (or appropriate preservative & %)

The little black and red mixer is a cocktail mixer. You should find plenty of them under this term 😊. Also great when you have to blend teeny tiny portions of soap batter

I love making lotions, butters & balms! I actually made a diaper balm for my grand daughter cause anything on the market or even from the doctor didn't work . I came up with a product that healed most of the time over night! Thank you for the video!

I made the homestead tallow balm. Loved it. I’m almost out so I’ll be making another batch. I switched some of the oils. I used grapeseed oil, and castor oil. I think next batch I’ll use some arrowroot powder to make it not so greasy. Since we live in the humidity lol but thank you for sharing it and I look forward to keeping that recipe around. Ellen I used on my face and couldn’t stop. Had to do my neck as well. It does not feel greasy and I feel my skin tightening. Also I react to most skin products but not this one. I have been promising samples to my friends but I’m saving 1/2 my jars for myself. 😅

I bought that exact black and red mixer several years back. I find that blade works so well when mixing lotions. Sadly, it was damaged in a move and when I went to get a new one... Out of stock. Checked for ages but never came back in stock. Heard someone else call it a Greek frappe mixer, so I looked that up. Nothing on Amazon but I did find it at a place in Cyprus of all places. With the international shipping, it was still fairly reasonably priced. What I didn't think about was the power cable differences
Oops. Luckily the part of mine that was damaged was the actual blade spoke and not the machine itself. So just took the blade off the new one and put it on my old one, voila! Perfection! (when looking at it that way though, I paid too much for just a mixer attachment haha)
