How To Reload The Autocannon Effectively in Helldivers 2

Heres one for ya: Out of grenades and need to blow up a fabricator? throw a resupply, support weapon, sentry, essentially any stratagem sphere into the vent. It'll land on the fabricator and blow up.

best part is there's no mag dump on reloads for the autocannon so shots are never wasted on reload

for once I'm shocked that the term "clip" is actually used correctly here. the fact that the rounds are on a giant stripper clip is amazing.

Another Tip, hold out a nade when resupplying, then stow it. 5/4 nades for wahtever

And if you do fully deplete, you can load the cannon, dodge/run away, then finish the animation, shoot 4, then reload, and now can shoot 5 again until safe :)

5 shots before reload, but if you need to burst something down, be it a horde or a big enemy, you can shoot 9 shots and leave the last one in the chamber. If you do that, it still only does the short reload and gives you 6 shots in the gun. Shoot once more to reload the gun fully or you can shoot another 5 times if you need to and it'll only ever do the short reload.

firing 9 shots, reloading, then firing 1 and reloading gives you quick reloads and allows you to shoot a bit more before reloading

Bonus tip: If you ever end up completely empty w/ the autocannon, you can unstuck yourself from the animation at any time by uncrouching. Just press crouch to stand back up, and any progress in the reload is saved, meaning you can put 5 in and stand up to charge it later, or put 5 in and charge in and stand up for 5 ready to go.

Protip: A lot of normal weapons also take slightly longer to reload if it's completely empty, same with Helldivers 1.

You can interupt the 2nd reload, wait for the first 5 bullets to enter the 'curved' chamber, then either swap guns or do alt-jump. It will fill up half the mag, run, and do a fast reload to full again.
