Introducing the Autocannon (or the Chadcannon if you ask me or another of his devote followers)!
After the recent nerfs to the railgun-shield gen meta, the Helldivers 2 community has been left defenseless against the deadly hordes of the Terminids and Automaton threats. That is... Until now. The Autocannon can shred through armor, destroy objectives, and can even be used to lure away enemies with it's explosive shell

The autocannon is by far one of the best weapons to have in your arsenals when you're playing on higher difficulties. In this video I do a deep dive into the mechanics, giving tips and tricks for the Autocannon in Helldivers 2 like how to kill the Charger with the Autocannon. With this awesome weapon, you can shoot the heads off Brood Commands, one-shot Striders, and even take out a tank without having to reload once! The Autocannon is one of the most powerful, dare I say- OVERPOWERED weapons in Helldivers 2. So OP in fact, I'll just list some of the best features:
Higher than average armor pen
Take out both bug holes and bot fabricators
Easily take out spore trees and propaganda towers
Lead enemies away with the sound of the explosive projectile.
Get it way earlier than the railgun
2 shot Hulks in the weak point
1 shot all devastators or stagger on hit to body
1 shot Striders
2 shot Chargers
1 shot Brood Commanders
3 shots takes out a tank
Can empty the 60 shell max carry in seconds if you have a loader helping you.

Even after the latest patch (Helldivers 2 Patch 1.000.102) that reworked some of the Charger's weakpoints, the autocannon still serves as one of the best stratagems. If anything the update just gave you another place to hit a charger, but this time its closer to the front. There are many other tips and tricks

All i know is that someone called in an autocannon and i picked up the backpack and we were at the extraction zone and the bugs were coming like crazy and we just organically went into backpack team load mode and he was just shredding everything and it was epic. That shit was like a movie. This game is great.

Should have also mentioned the insane ammo utility, base 50 shots with the pack and resupplies 5 from basic ammo on the ground, and 25 from friendly supply pack charges

Fun tip with the autocannon, if you're having trouble with the walkers taking more than one hit, aim for the hip

I fucking love autocannons. Give them to me in every single format. Carried weapons, sentries, mount that mf to my ship, to my mech, give me an autocannon drone, hell, give me armour made from them.

Seriously though I wish more games had Autocannons. They look and sound so cool

This is my go to weapon for big missions as its utility is insane. You can destroy bug holes/fabricators, snipe spore spewers, deal great damage against medium enemies while till being able to take on Heavy units if you are accurate, you have tons of spare ammo so you can go on for a while. I love to use it with my stealth saboteur playstyle, throwing stratagems on closer bugholes while I destroy the ones with the right angle, moving away quickly to reposition and close the remaining holes.

Auto cannon is very efficient on stratagem slots. I main it. But you need two air strikes and the orbital rail to back it up against elites.

I started playing Helldivers 2 3 days ago and when i saw the Autocannon in the preview of the Stratagrams i thought to myself, i like this.

Bigs, smalls, holes, antennas, divers, mines, eggs, titans, its amazing. If your to close dive and turn to blow away your target. Using 50% explosive resistance REALLY HELPS with close combat

I really find it funny that the punisher/autocannon/impact nade have been my go-to loadout ever since I first unlocked them and now I keep seeing it more and more. Sure the buffs did help and I'm pretty sure it didn't used to destroy objectives that easily but I always felt I performed better with them than other weapons

Cool video.
Note: Both *"Fortified"* _and_ *"Engineering Kit"* Armor Passives provide the same aim stability perk of _"Further reduces recoil when crouching or prone by 30%"_ -- "Fortified" also provides 50% Explosive resistance (useful for bots!), while "Engineering Kit" provides +2 additional *grenade capacity* instead. For bugs, you probably won't need the explosive protection, so additional grenades via "Engineering Kit" can help deal with bug hordes, and you still get the stance-based recoil control.

I am happy to see people seeing the effectiveness of the stout little autocannon.

I pair it with the AC turret for tons of ranged support. you may not always have good moments to disengage a fight but if you can get 60m away from a horde while your friends are keeping them busy, an AC and AC turret will be their guardian angel. i have watched both clear a dozen chargers prior to the spawn changes. Autocannon proves that meta is in how you use a weapon, not in its capabilities.

The best thing about the autocannon when you need to take down spore spewers or broadcast towers is that you can spare a 2 minute walk and a possible 5 minute fight if you accidentally trigger a bug breach or a bot drop for you and your team by just sniping it from halfway across the map.
