I own a 2005 987 Boxster S which I bought in ‘07. It still gives me goosebumps to this day. The mid-engine makes for the most exhilarating driving experience you can have and the handling is unmatched. I know 6 people who have purchased Porches since seeing and driving my Boxster. Two Boxsters, three Macans, and one Cayman. It’s also the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. You won’t be disappointed

Hi BCblue

I’m in Queens. This is my first convertible. I no longer have a house. Downsized to an apt. So no garage anymore lol. I just park it outside. I’ll put a cover on it for the snow. But I intend to drive it when the roads are clear. It’s our 3rd car. So I can always drive the other 2 as needed.

Good luck!

Johnny, very nice Boxster! don't know how long you are keeping it but in case you don't know. if you are street parking. in order to avoid rust underneath, spray a light coat of > Fluid Film < even you not driving / the moisture from condensation - helps protect the salt if snow comes. I know you not driving it when there's snow on the ground. besides it helps get your max dollar back / car people like clean bottoms. fyi car/motorcycle over 25 years old - you may get classic/antique auto insurance for your Porsche perhaps $300 - hundred yr liability full coverage w/ fire/theft - allowed approx 2-3, 000 miles driving, doubt you drive that car much. You have a main car, so you qualify. need more info ask. I had over 30 cars/motorcycles in my lifetime mostly vintage collectables.

3.15 - Flat 6, not a V6. Great cars, and some say more reliable than the S.

Thanks, John. I am in the market for a boxster now. I previously owned a 996 that was a great car. Looks like you are in New Jersey or New York? How do you protect the car from the salted roads in the winter?

Ok, I got exactly what you said to avoid. I got a 2006 boxster S . automatic, and it was under 15k.1 owner only, than me. I drive top down year round and no storing it away for winter. Can't really push it in high speed, because you'll run out of ROAD! Aloha from Hawaii! note ... don't want to be driving too fast, bikinis are getting smaller and that back bikinis views are hazardous . Keeping eyes on the road becomes secondary!

Johnny, I should say if you are keeping your Porsche 7 more years until the year 2031 over 25 years old.

987.2 is the perfect first sports car with the 987.1 possibly a better buy if you keep on top of maintenance.

It's perfect if you've got money to burn. Almost pulled the trigger on one 14 years ago but decided on a Honda S2000 instead. One of the best decisions I ever made.

The 986 S is by far the better option 👍
