HG this one made me smile. My ex narc said many of these whenever I questioned some of his behaviors.

“I connect well with people” and “ I help
people flourish” ... his eulogy to his stepfather funerals was entirely about himself and probably 1% about his stepfather. And he made such a big deal about writing that eulogy, he probably lied that his brother asked him to write it, and he offered to write it as being the most educated in his family.
Recalling all the signs that now are so obvious what he is, it makes me sick. Even if the gut feeling was always there flashing warning signals, I always find reasons that he is so “emotional”, he needs help and support ( he was asking for these all the time)... only if I knew.

My stepmother. I've heard it towards myself or my father. I have been NC with her since 2/ 2014....mt father apparently decided to join in with her and also went nc with me. ..

Strange because I have said many of these things when discarded from a mid range narcissist who had asked me to support him for 1 1/2 year while he was trying to get a divorce and finally decided to stay with his wife. There are many things that I said to him, that you say that a narcissist would say ?!! But because I was so angry and couldn’t believe everything he had asked me to do for him to simply discard me without empathy. So not only a narcissist can say these things..

Right around minute 3 I was expecting him to say "I have to use the bathroom, I just drove an hour to get here and hv to pee. It's New Year's eve and want to enjoy a nice time together" but when I come back into the living room see the stupid truck hauling ass down the road. Like a dummy I waited till he came bk around 4 hrs later asking me for 10 dollars. Such good people
