Congrats to Bruce, our latest recruit to pass his Initiation Test into the Cave of Adullam Transformational Training Academy. We decided to share this part of his Initiation Test to encourage all of you to not only allow your sons to cry when facing emotional stress, but more importantly, patiently walk them through it.

Going on his knee and talking to him face to face was where the connection was built and the lesson could be learned. Rather than looking down and talking down to him. Really good mentor

"We cry as men." Said so casually. I love what you're doing here.

“That’s ok to cry son, we cry as men. Why are you crying?”

This man is fucking GOAT. That’s some real master shit. Perseverance involves humility sometimes.

Jason is an incredible teacher, and this father deserves utmost respect. In my work, I encounter countless boys who never had solid male leadership in their lives. I'm grateful there are people like Jason and this father out there actively making the world a better place.

What's amazing is that all the students sat there and didn't bat an eye. They didn't laugh, make fun or talk to each other. They just sat there and listened. The amount of respect from children that young is amazing. Great work.

"It's okay to cry. We cry as men."

I'm a 57 year old white guy in Dallas, and also a karate instructor. Amazing instructor. I hope those young guys will one day realize what a special teacher they have.

I love how the instructor handles the situation when the boy starts crying. He doesn't coddle him and let him sit down because it's tough and he's in pain. But at the same time, he doesn't belittle and humiliate the boy for it either. He addresses the issue, lets the boy know that you can feel in pain and discouraged and yet still be strong and powerful. Wow, I wish all boys growing up had strong role models like these guys.

Much respect for these men!

This is the kind of father figure I wish I had. I'm still learning this lesson at 20. I've dealt with severe anxiety and depression my whole life. I've dealt with l low self esteem my whole life. When I was at college, away from home, stepping into an MMA gym was what saved my life.

We need more role models like Jason to emphasise the importance of men expressing our emotions. Especially during times of hardship. Crying isn’t giving up, it’s your way of processing the pain. God bless this man.
Edit: fuck the arguing in the replies. The real focus is the mentor here. Regardless of whatever was actually said, the way this mentor interacted with this young man will turn him into a goddamn superhero, full of love and respect for others. Whether it’s about anxiety or anger or depression, we need more men like Jason who will explain to young men the importance of expressing themselves healthily so as to process the emotion. That’s the key issue here. And if you can’t recognise that, then I hope you figure it out someday

I just came here from Joe Rogan and I've got to say that this isn't just what young Black men in America need, this is what EVERY kid needs, of every color and creed, rich and poor, boy and girl, in every country. It isn't strong men that I fear, it is the weak.
