I just am not optimistic enough to believe the pricing will carry over. This is truly the end of an era. I would be lying if I said I wasn't upset with RSA and Shawn K for pulling the trigger on a buyout they definitely knew would negatively impact their entire customer base and the entire manga/anime fandom in the west. I hope they enjoy their payday, because collecting manga in the US is about to get a lot more expensive.

This is so sad. Rightstuf was a big part of my collection growing up, and it's really sad to see them go like this. I wish this never happened

Not me going over to the rightstuf store to buy $150 of manga before I can't get that price anymore. This combined with VIZ upping their manga prices is a devastating blow to manga fans

Crunchyroll is terrible. The employees dont give a f. Ppl get damaged items all the time. Expect 2 volumes of in stock manga to take 3-5business days to fulfill maybe longer

Devastated. I feel like the weekly sales, the overall price values, and packaging will all be lost. I hope not, but I'll stay pessimistic. CR/Sony just bought Rightstuf to simply take them out of the equation, and dissolve them. An era gone. I've been using RS since I was a kid with the mail in orders. To see a community go away like this is just very sad. Thanks for covering this.

Just the fact that the name RightStuf isn't going to be a website/company that I can order my manga from is really disappointing news. I bought my very first manga from RightStuf and have never had any problems with them compared to many other retailers. Definitely going to purchase from them at least one last to show some support.

I actually just emailed Crunchy with Q’s about stuff(like if my lists will carry over ect). But I told them to tread lightly(even though the person responding to me message is just an employee). Hopefully they will pass on the message

Absolutely disheartening. Granted, I had a feeling something like this was going to happen after Shawne Kleckner stepped down last year. I’m happy I got everything I wanted before we got this news and I was happy I got to use a coupon for my pre-order for the collector’s edition of Eva 3+1. That blu-ray and the Urusei Yatsura TV Set Vol. 3 are going to be last things I buy from Right Stuf (outside of the kickstarter blu-ray set for the 80’s Dirty Pair and some out of stock manga). I feel so angry and sad.🤬😢

Yea I live in Ireland so never bought from them, but after I heard this news yesterday I bought vol 10 of Yokai Girls from them on eBay as they were the only place I could find it. Had to pay $30 shipping but I need the volume to complete the run.

well, it’s sadly a sad day but I knew that this was coming when Crunchyroll announced that they acquired Right Stuf last year. Now the new store, I think will have some good deals will have to win to see one of the things that I hope Crunchyroll keeps is the proprietary packaging that was created by Right Stuf.

Well, manga collecting will be even more of a challenge now. At least their not destroying everything in rightstuf but moving it instead. Hopefully there will be at least some semblance of the weekly sales. I’m not too sure though :/

I could see Crunchyroll just keeping the Right Stuf headquarters and basically all of Crunchyroll‘s products just shipped out of that giant warehouse. That’s in Iowa.
