It’s early morning in downtown Johannesburg and, as small-business owners open shop for the day, an elite team from the SAPS’ anti-counterfeit unit descends on the inner city. Here the sale of counterfeit goods – popular luxury clothing brands, sneakers and even pharmaceuticals – has exploded. Cheap knockoffs are easy to come by and, because of its shipping routes, South Africa is one of the biggest markets for fake goods on the continent - large counterfeit consignments often move through the country undetected. As this illicit market continues to grow, fuelling other major criminal networks, Carte Blanche joins one anti-counterfeit unit's operation on the streets of Johannesburg.

Well, as long as South Africa is not addressing illegal foreigners who claim to be refugees/asylum seekers, we are going nowhere as a country. Why did you not bring immigration officers to the scene as well.

I'm beginning to understand what other South Africans have been saying about foreigners and crime. Wow.

After hearing the lady talk it makes sense now why they do these raids it's because the big brands are paying for this to be done. If only there was a big brand willing to pay to bring down human trafficking. 😢

Yes i agree the foreigners are a problem BUT i have watched retailers and grocery chain stores push prices up R5 at a time constantly for no reason at all. Coffee and Eggs the prices are still sky high, they will never bring the prices back down even tho theres no problems or shortages anymore.
