I'm always impressed by how good the Bose soundlink flex sounds they did a great job with this one everything is balanced not too harsh to the ears I own them and in person they sound incredible for their size

Wow, the Flex has really impressive deep and powerful bass for a speaker with such a small body! A soundbattle with the great and much cheaper Anker Soundcore Boost upgraded edition would be very interesting...

Just heard the Bose at target and it blew me away! Sounds better than my Bose 360 smart speaker that is 399

it's no surprise that Bose is known for Best Sound Quality out of most of their products and the Flex is no different.

I've been using the flip 5 at work for over a year and it is an excellent speaker. Everything about it is perfect. It gets loud enough to where I have to turn it down at times and I work in a wide open space. To me it has perfect tonal balance. The bass is perfect and vocals are clear. You can hear ever instrument and if you just listen to it and shut everything else out it is mesmerizing. Even my co workers are amazed by it. The flip 6 isn't worth buying to me because nothing was done to improve the sound which in my opinion impossible because the sound is perfect. I also have the Bose portable home speaker and it just sits gathering dust. I will use it if my flip 5 goes down. I don't care what speaker comes on the market I don't think that it can best the flip 5 at its price point and size.

i have the bose flex. at volumes under 70% its the best for its size imo. I agree at max its not the best but max is stupid loud as it is. 70% on the bose flex is more like 100% on other speakers in its size/weight class. so I dont really find this to be a big negative

My Opinion
The Flip 5 : High Bass. Clear (The Treble Too Loud)
The SL Flex : Low Bass, Clear Same As Flip 5 But Not Too Harsh / Loud

Bose Flex wins I guess it has deeper bass and it sounds pretty awesome!!!

I haven't heard anything better in this size. An interesting fact is that one Bose transducer is equipped with two coils, one for high tones and one for medium and low tones :D As a result, with passive diaphragms it will go down to 55hz, I checked.
Best portable speaker . Additionally, you can fit it in your pocket. Only 600g! In stereo mode they can fight with xtreme 3. I highly recommend that I record them soon when they play at my place...

Probably they named that speaker "Flex" because you can let the driver play frontal forward or also upwards so that you can reach a kind of 360 degree sound... 🤔😉

A comparison between the Bose Soundlink FLEX and the Bose Soundlink mini 2
would be extremely interesting

@DLX Willington Thank you! This is the best review I have come across on these two speakers. Listening to your review via headphones helped. Though still feel like I want to hear these two in person for myself. What do you think drives the Flip 5 to be better at higher volumes? Do you think it is the BT 5.0, also any thoughts on the sound quality for the JBL Charge 4 which uses BT 4.2? I am a Bose guy (I own the QC15's) and shopping around for a portable wireless speaker for my first TT.

I'm not endorsing, but. Is it really necessary to buy this kind of bts when motion plus and boom is on market and cheaper. don't need to mention but sound quality wise you can't go wrong with the motion and boom for their price.

I prefer the BOSE SoundLink Flex. It sounds warmer and somehow more pleasant.

Seems to me that the Bose has a better capacity for Base ranges-- thus.. if your device (phone) has access to a custom equalizer setting as part of the phone then the Bose will produce the better overall result. I find that add on apps equalizers can loose some sound character and therefore are not good) In my market (Toronto Canada) the Bose is 50% more expensive than the Flip... both on so .. that could be a deciding factor for some buyers. Overall, I think the Bose will be the most satisfying experience if cost is not a consideration.

You said you did not notice the sound change when you moved the Flex to a different orientation. You called BS. That is exactly what is supposed to (not) happen, the speaker makes adjustments based on the placement to maintain the same sound. The "PositionIQ" feature BOSE is touting really works.

Excellent review. I like to crank it up and listen to it from afar.
