In my Honest opinion BOSE FLEX warm bass punchy sound soothes your ears. Bose technology was very pleasing, in my taste Bose flex was having a more balanced and more eardrum friendly than the more spikey sound of JBL yes it was louder and more crispier but will eventually cause unusual earpain or irritability, I prefer the softer warm sound that was so smooth but still you can get your satisfaction,

That was just a personal opinion

Maybe more people preferred other way around it was just my ears

As a instrumental musician, These are both great speakers. Tough choice to make. I agree with most of the comments made here. The Charger 5 is great for outdoor sound with a great bass dance sound. The Bose Flex is more enjoyable indoors when you listen to piano, guitar, jazz pieces. Bose is true to its quality.
One of each?🤔

Bose has boosted mid bass and upper bass but recessed upper mids and highs. This gives the listener the impression of a more "full bodied" bass boosted sound signature, especially considering its size. Psychoacoustic at its work. Bose is truly an industry expert in this area. But if you compare it side by side with the Charge 5, it's just no contest. Charge 5 has more balanced frequency across the spectrum. It is bass boosted from mid bass to upper bass as well while still retaining the details in the upper mids and highs. I guess that's having a separate tweeter can do. It sounds like a miniaturized JBL Xtreme. Charge 5 wins in my opinion.

Alright, so I have both the charge 5 and Bose flex. In my opinion, Bose can be listened for longer as it’s sound is more mellow and soothing. The charge 5 gets a bit ear piercing at times. If you haven’t, you have to try the Bose, I find my self listening to it a lot more. Also with the Bose, you don’t have to crank it up to hear the bass, it’s so deep that I can be listening to it at any volume. I would say the charge 5 is more of a party/outdoor speaker while the Bose is more of a chill speaker you can listen in like a small gathering. Both speakers are great though, charge 5 is very loud for its size!

I have owned ALOT of these small Bluetooth speakers, and JBL hit a home run with the Charge 5, it is a spectacular speaker for its size!

I just recently bought the bose soundlink flex and the bass is really good I always keep it at 60% cuz it pushes out the bass limit at that percent but I tryed 100% and it just sounded like TV speakers so I just kept it at 60% which is the best for this little speaker.

I have the Bose car stereo in my Acura MDX and I also have the charge 5 portable Bluetooth speaker both of them are great but I love the charge 5 for bass and loudness more bcuz of my noisy environment in Lagos Nigeria. Thanks for the video boss

The difference of bose to other speakers is you can listen to bose for a long hours compare to others that is painful or irritating in ear for just 30min.

The 2nd song is actually “Night city” by Action Alexi. Not “future bass” by alexiaction, as mentioned in the video, for those looking for the song.

Wooo here we are!
Both very good but I still prefer the JBL. You may think that the Bose has more bass, but actually it looks like they are more like boomie bass, with much more dsp work, while the JBL's bass are more like true, autentic bass.
On the other side if we analize the middles the JBL is by far the best. And also I prefer the highs of the JBL, the Bose ones aren't bad but they are too much thin...

Ok, so i just bought the bose flex two days ago on a splurge… i shouldn’t have but i did.. the bose has a fuller balanced sound around or up to about 60%-70%.. but i will say the bose has a better placement signature in terms of you dont always have to place it in a corner to achieve that deep bass.. i have the charge 3 and 4.. the jbl for the win if your doing the outside/party.. bose for the casual/traveler.. still a great speaker..

The bose gives the feeling of hearing the music from outside the room with the door semi closed and the JBL is as if you open the door and walk into the room

Hiiii thank you sooo much for this comparison!! I am not sure among these 2 which to buy! I am a Family Photographer and I shot outdoor, by the sea, in the public parks ecc and I need a portable speaker to be used during my shootings. Among them, which one do you recommend me? Personally, the important is that even if I place it a little far from me & clients (as I do not want it to appear in the shots) we all can still hear the music. Thanks!!!

I'm planning to buy a speaker for my job where I work long hours.

I think everyone is talking too much about how loud and clear the C5 is but that is only enjoyable for maybe max 1 hour.

After that you will get tired and your ears want to turn off the speaker cause no ears want to have that kind of exhaustion and headache.

The Bose on the other hand is perfect for long hours of listening to music.

Just compare that to how sound studios at radio stations usually sounds like: they are warm and trap you inside one room and not that type of "blasting sound out from the window" like sagt the Charge 5 is exactly doing.

So if you wanna part outdoor, go ahead and buy that Charge 5. This is only good for teenagers.

But if you are mature enough and want to use a speaker indoor long hours, then definitely it's the Bose that is the King of the speakers!

Not everything should be about how loud and clear sounds should be.

Your ears should be handle it during long durations also! Good luck listening to C5 for long time!

I'd bet you would turn if off in no time.

Yup for example right around 3:40 you can clearly hear that Bose has a much warmer boomy sound crystal clear with no distortion while the Jbl charge 5 feels like the music is drowned by a whirpool if you know what I mean
