Get Them Here:

So this is the Bose Soundlink Max, its a very premium feeling speaker, I really appreciate that it has an audio jack and I like that you can use its USB C port to charge your own devices. However, I do find it hard to justify this speaker cause of its price to performance ratio. But nonetheless, today we’re going to see how the Bose Soundlink Flex compares to the Max, cause I have always liked and enjoyed the Bose Soundlink Flex.

The soundlink flex is one of the cleanest sounding speakers out of all. Jbl might have a better bass but holy shit the clarity of the bose one is incomparable

I don’t throw any outdoor parties, so for around the house the Flex is more than enough.

I picked up 2 Flex’s for $100 a piece on sale. I cant justify I paying $400 for the MAX.

The max sounds really good. Well it sounds good through your mic, YouTube compression and then replayed through my Bose QC35 headphones. I bought a JBL Charge 5 about a year ago and while I really like the sound, design, battery life etc, the Bluetooth is absolute garbage. It is by far the worst Bluetooth device I have ever owned. It crackles and cuts out and as soon as you connect another phone (it can have two phones connected at once) all hell breaks loose and it becomes a garbles crackly mess. It really is terrible. I am cosidering taking it back. My brother didnt know that I got a JBL so he bought me a Bose Soundlink Flex for christmas and while I think the Charge 5 sounds way better and has longer battery life, the Soundlink Flex is much better in every other way. The bluetooth is rock solid with no crackling even with two phones connected, it has a shortcut button to switch between devices (super handy when you are in the shower) it has a mic so you can talk to Siri/Google (again super handy when you are in the shower and want your song) and the voice feedback from the speaker is handy too. This is my first JBL and unfortunately I think it will be my last. The BT is garbage.

For the price of 1 Bose Soundlink Max, you can get a W - KING X20 & a Soundcore Boom2.😊

I listened to both in the shop, and the flex sounded a lot better than the max, the max sounds way too muddy.

They sound good but u are right the max needs a little EQ the mids or treble is recessed a little for the price I'll rather get the flex but if want a bigger speaker JBL extreme 4 will be better for the money

The problem is that you're comparing price to performance and not size to performance.
So if you buy a 200$ pocket speaker and will complain that the speaker isn't loud for it's price without paying attention to the size?

Comparing an active speaker on its nominal amp SPL with another on its max SPL is a nonsense: the compressor will totally suprime the bass by more than 10 dB which can be audible in the first comparison.

Better down the Flex to a nominal longterm value, and then match the Max with it by a Vumeter: then you can present a proper comparison.

One should expect bigger drivers to have more low end, and since Flex is not true stereo probably Max have better soundstage (if one can talk about soundstage in those little speakers).

I had Flex at home and is way bass-enhanced, internal DSP sending a lot of energy to little drivers and helped with passive radiators: as a result lows kills mid range.

Is probably that Max will handle better this issue, as it doesn’t need as much as help on the low end

Please make a comparison between the new Beats Pill vs Bose Soundlink Flex

sound quality is different after you increase beyond 75%.. bass gets decreased and other mid and treble gets over bass whilst sound is balanced below 75%volume. That is why here, it is incomparable. As you have increased the volume of flex beyond 75% bass is obviously low... Please put both of them at 70% around and that is justifiable. Both are amazing though... fo for Bose if you want the quality in

I always wonder what folks want to pay in general? $50 for a nice piece of audio??

I’d prefer the JBL flip 6 over the flex. Due to it having a tweeter and a 3-band eq. The tweeter definitely gives it better clarity.

I mean the flip 6 doesn’t blow the bose out of the water as far as the clarity but I feel it has better clarity and can be a little louder at times.

But I think the bose does a slightly better job at max volume.

Just my personal opinion

2 flex are 85 dollars and sound louder than max and it’s still 150 cheaper than max after buying 2 flex speakers you can use as stereo mode

The Bose soundlink Max sounds like Sony's old muffled speakers they should have squeezed in another tweeter and make the mids more pronounced and more detailed

For roughly the same price, would you rather own the Bose Soundlink Max or the JBL EXTREME 4?😊
