Hey everyone, today I thought we’d dive into the lore and gameplay and look at some mysteries or questions that have never really been answered but may have crossed your mind at some point. I’m then gonna briefly do my best to try and answer these. Let’s get into it.

Chapter 22 has been released on the 5.4.0 PTB. With this chapter we have a new killer, The Artist, a new survivor, Jonah Vasquez, and a new map, Eyrie of Crows, part of the new Forsaken Boneyard realm. It looks great, and I'm very excited!

Music used from YouTube Audio Library:
The Emperor's Army - Jeremy Blake
Clean and Dance - An Jone

Hope you enjoy!

so the entity has removed survivors' ability to speak to avoid having them communicate to each other during the trials and have the games be unfair for killers, but it apparently hasn't accounted for discord.

I’ve always wanted to know what the killers do in between trials, do they just vibe in some killers club only lounge? Or just straight to another trial

I wonder if the reason we’ve never get to play or see Benedict is because he has already escaped as it stated the Entity sometimes randomly lets out survivors and his journals has many hints how to escape so maybe it’s that

“Physical bodies gone”. I agree. I also like to think of the store as the entity’s way of easily reconstructing their appearances and clothings

8:38 I think that there is a simplier explanation to that : weapons are probably useless against killers. I mean, if we take Legion for example, they were simple teenagers irl, and in the entity's realm, they can feel people's presence when hurting someone, destroy a wooden door or palet in a few seconds, and even carry on their shoulder a fully grown man. I think survivor don't fight back because killers are much stronger in the entity's realm.

For the first question, I think its more complicated. My theory is the survivors and killers are neither living or dead. They're somewhere in between. The entity's realm puts a dying survivor or killer's body on "pause" so they can work in the trials. Pig is a good example, as in the saw movies she dies, but here she's fine and well. I'm guessing right when the entity takes a dying victim, its in the last milliseconds of their life. In the Entity's realm, time works differently. Milliseconds can feel like years, and seconds can feel like millenia. If a killer or survivor escaped the realm, they'd return to the EXACT moment they were taken as if nothing happened. And any dying survivor or killer would succumb to their wounds in the real world immediately upon re entry to the real world

The fact that you mentioned "Haddie Kaur" and rn she's in the game may mean that the lore gives us hints about future survivors (or killer)

The idea of rewiring the survivors during trials or just in general sounds so distressing. Not having control over your autonomy by a being that only seeks out your harm and pain… absolutely horrifying. Especially because the Entity not only punishes survivors, but also the killers. There’s favoritisms, but it’s so slight. The Entity doesn’t see them as any but play toys for it’s crude enjoyment. Ahh! So creepy!

For “the survivors don’t fight back”, they do. Just not directly. The reason why you stun a killer during a Decisive Strike is because you stabbed something into the killers back, like the icon for DS is suggesting. “Head On”ing a killer is literally slamming a locker door in their face. Not to mention slamming down pallets on them, throwing flashbangs and planting mines as a trap.

They have just figured out that direct confrontation isn’t going to work. Unless its David or Bill, having a hatchet or a throwing knife isn’t going to do much to any of the killers. They’ll just shove it off and then kill the survivors. Like I said, you literally stab the killer when you DS one, and after a few seconds they just act as if nothing happened…

Survivors are just smart XD.

Regarding why the survs don't fight back against the killers

I always assumed it was something that flat out wouldn't work as each killer showcase superhuman strength (able to pick up full grown people easily and shatter large pallets/ walls without much difficulty)

The survivors are still human and the most likely scenario to attacking a killer with a hatchet or knife would be an 'ow that's mildly annoying' before getting sucker punched to a different franchise

"Survivors can't fight"
“BHVR after some months or so after this"
Here you get a boon totem that lets you ds the killer whenever you want and punch them

As soon as you said "Haddie Kaur" I immedeatly realized it is the new survivor in the "Roots of Dread" chapter.

The way I see it, The Entity isn't inherently evil. It just does what it needs to do to feed and survive. I'm not even sure if it understands human emotions, it just feeds on them. It simply does its thing. Reminds me a lot of Stephen King's Pennywise. Same case of an ageless cosmic being that, despite highly intelligent and powerful, does not relate to emotions. Basically, a simple-minded, multiversal consumer. Also has similarities to beings like Lovecraft's Nyarlathotep. Either way, what we know for sure is that, just like Nya and Penny, The Entity is some sort of eldritch horror.

The second to final theory on why the survivors do not fight back is also a bit simple. Think about the Trapper, how he has fought the entity several times and has been punished accordingly. The entity adds ways of delaying the inevitable, but not preventing it. It also does not matter how powerful that survivor was in their realm (such as Cheryl or Ash) because the entity has the capabilities to completely nullify you into nothing but a weak ant. However sometimes, it can mock these people who have had extreme power with handicaps (like how Ash's perks are garbage). If I remember correctly, a quote on one of the perks or items in the game says "The entity is one equal sides of the team, though it tends to favor the killers."

For an addition to survivors not fighting back, a good guess/idea is that the survivors are punished so heavily for attempting in a way that they just gave up trying outside of pallets and head on. Although Head -on can be explained as you hitting them with the door or slamming into them abruptly.

Let's say they try and grab a hatchet for example. Instead of being able to pick it up, the entity lashes out and breaks a few fingers. They try and take a knife? Severe lacerations all around the fingers and hands. There's jagged pieces of broken wood on a lot of maps. Could explain Decisive but if they try to use it randomly to fight a killer? Broken hand and maybe a ton of splinters are forced into their body. Basically saying you can try to fight back, but you won't be able to when it kills you.

Great video but I’ve got to ask - what was going through your head at 3:37 when you started picking a pallet up against a nemesis?😂
