What do Indian-Americans in California think of Kamala Harris? | DW News

Wherever Kamala Harris’ presidential candidacy goes, hers is already a professional and political journey shattering ceilings and blazing trails. Her ascendancy marks the growing political clout of Indian-Americans in the country, and potential divides. It is a group that recently surpassed Chinese Americans to become the largest Asian group in the US among people who identify with one country of origin, and are the wealthiest and most highly educated origin group among Asian-Americans on average. A tight race means that the Indian-American vote matters. The Pew Research Center says that 68% of Indian-Americans identify as Democrats and 29% as Republicans – but does that mean they’re all in on Kamala Harris?

California big cities usually vote blue. Very liberal, centrists, and large asian educated networks

I vote based on the content of someone's character not the color of their skin.

'the wealthiest and most highly educated origin group among Asian-Americans on average'. Average does not say the true story. Indian Americans are stereotyped. They used to be stereotyped by politicians as 'the model community'. There are many low income Indian Americans working in Indian stores, restaurants, and as truck and taxi drivers.

Who cares, none of that is going to pay the average person's bills or give opportunities to provide for their families. There is only one candidate who is good for the economy and that's who i'm voting for.

I love listening to Indian Americans saying they need to control immigration from coming in. The cherry on top of the cake is that Republicans vetoed the border bill they proposed.
