Regardless of what people say TGF3 was an ok movie. Maybe not as good as the others but still a very interesting ending to the godfather saga.

My idea for a new Godfather installment: "Godfather: Uncivil War"
Andy Garcia reprises his role as an old Vincent Corleone/Mancini. But now, Johnny Depp portrays Anthony Corleone, the slightly eccentric and pure hearted artist who declined running the family in the past, now either has, or discovers, some life changing event that leaves him extremely jaded (and paranoid and psychopathic) and turns him to the life of crime he so wanted to escape before. But now, he can't seem to get enough power or violence as he leads his new life of crime with the passion of artistry that he has always known just in different forms. But the criminal masterpiece he's painting leaves no room at the top for the "Mancini bastard" who Anthony sees as a traitor to the family name now. But with Vincent not willing to relinquish control of the family and Anthony determined to have it all, with family against family and blood against blood, who in the family will align with whom? Who will come out on top? Or will it all come crashing down for the entire family just as civil wars have done to nations again and again throughout history.

Bro, this is cap, Coppola even admitted that he only did Godfather 3 for the money after a string of bad box office bombs lol. Paramount was so cheap that they didn't want to pay Robert Duvall even a quarter of his worth for it so they had to write him out. Godfather 3 doesn't exist in my universe, it's lame and who cares, much less a nonsensical Godfather 4.

Something I don't understand is that originally they only wanted 2 films, then Coppola needed money so he agreed to make part 3, but, he and Mario Puzo wanted this film to be the end, like an epilogue, so why did they think of making a part 4 later?

A better casting choice for young Sonny would have been Scott Caan, James' son. Scott looks just like James and has hie mannerisms.
