Not gonna lie, I'm actually crying. What a beautiful last day

My dad was a logger for over 50 years. The night before he died, he went out & topped a fruit tree that was “ bugging” him. He passed peacefully in his sleep💫

As a former hospice caregiver I love your videos. People never believed me that hospice can be rewarding. Thank you!

I was looking after my mother at home, as she wanted. She was drifting in and out of consciousness but when my children, her adult grandchildren, arrived, she had a two hour period where she sat up to chat, laugh and interact with them. She even asked for a sandwich and cup of tea.

They all went off to bed and my mother fell into a very deep sleep. In the early hours, she opened her eyes for the last time, looked at me and said, "Time to sing my darling." She had said that the last thing she wanted to hear was me singing Edelweiss. So that's what I did. She smiled, held my hand, and then departed to God.

My dad was zipping around on his mobility scooter, with my 6 month old niece in her carrier, riding with him in his basket. He was upbeat and the happiest he had been, for the previous 6 weeks when my mom died. That night he told me he loved me. The next morning my sister found him in his chair, with his dog right there with him. My dad died in his chair. We figured he knew he’d be seeing my mom really soon!

This is called a rally. I’ve been a hospice care giver for 20 years. Man I could tell you stories ❤

It wasn't just his best day. It also was taking care of a tree that was on his mind. A guy with those skills knows how to recognize a hazard tree and get it down safely before it can cause harm in the next storm. One less thing to leave for his beloved family. Also, one more tree for firewood for the family. He took care of them through to the end.

This makes me cry. The poor little dog had such a good day and then witnessed his human pass. I hope he's been adopted and is living another happy life with another wonderful human.

That dog did his job well. What a sweet and beautiful bond, and I hope both the man and the dog were taken into loving arms, and that they will be reunited someday.

I've been my 92yr old mom's only care giver for over the past year. I find myself watching all of your posts to prepare myself. Thank you is all I can say.

My grandma was on hospice, rapidly progressing cancer, dead 3 months after her diagnosis.
She went from being bedbound for about 2 weeks (lucid, but weak and staying in bed) to being on her feet for an entire day baking hundreds of cookies and multiple nut and fruit rolls with us grandchildren. She passed 2 days later, with less than two weeks til Christmas.
While everyone wanted HER to be our Christmas present she at least made sure we still had her baking for one last Christmas, even if she wasn't with us in person her love was definitely there.

Thank you!
My mother in law is 85, and she hates me, but I do everything for her. Today, I am driving her to an MRI appointment, an INR appointment, groceries, bank, and post office.
Watching your videos, I learned that I am doing this for me, her grandchildren, and her great grand babies,
YOU COMPLETELY CHANGED MY OUTLOOK!
THANK YOU👏👏👏👏👏👏

It’s a wonderful way to depart. Falling asleep with your best friend on your lap. Hopefully, his little dog continues to be loved on until they are reunited.

My grandmother was dying. Weak and her mind gone. One day my mom and I were with her. She stood up and proceeded to sing the Canadian National anthem, in French. She hadn't stood up in months and we had no idea she knew any french. She sat back down and went back into her vegetative state and passed away 6 hours later. When my mother and I saw this we looked at each other in shock. I am sure it was her last burst of energy and it was magical to have seen this with my mother. Rest peacefully Pauline. I have loved you since my first memories and love and miss you so much every day. 🥲

Crying 😭! My dads last day was like that, they were going to take him off hospice as well. It was a Sunday, we went to church, he sang his favorite hymns, wrote his last check to to the church, randomly the elders of the church came by to visit and pray with him. He watched a movie with my daughter. He got up and said he thought he had a stoke, my husband half carried him to his bed. We prayed and since we were alone and this was traumatic we called 911. He did have a DNR he passed a few hours later. He loved the Lord, his church and pastor so it was a good day for him and it was also his favorite holiday St. Patrick’s day ☘️ he was 82.

We always called it “the rally before the finale.” Its amazing what patients can do in their last days/moments that you totally don’t see coming.
