MFT Workbench Hold Down and Linear Clamps From Banggood Review [GIFTED]

The best thing about MFT (Multi-Function Table) style workbenches is their work holding ability. Of course, the types of clamps used make a big difference. The usual go-to for this, is to use the Festool pattern guide rail clamps be they the ratchet or screw down type. Festool did however come up with two other types; the MFT-SP linear or in-line clamps and the MFT-HZ hold downs. As often happens, imitations soon follow and, in this review I'll be reviewing the Enjoywood version of the hold down and the Duratec version of the linear style.
Both are extremely good value for money considering their performance! A worthy addition to any workshop with and MFT style bench I think.

Cheers Stu, good review as per. I've also had the WNew ones for a couple of years and, like you, I find the height of the feet just that little too high. It's a bit of an annoyance so I think I might get a pair of the other ones for any 18mm stuff. Those hold down look great for the price as well.

The working on the edge of a bench I have also struggled to hold down materials for similar tasks as yourself. The post clamps look a really good solution

Five years in your commercial workshop seems like a good recommendation for the WNEW clamps. I bought a pair back in the summer and they seem quite good. If I find a need for another pair in the future I will see what the duratec are like.

Good review & great prices for both clamps. I’m really happy with the Bessey linear clamps, they don’t lift the workpiece, like I’ve heard the Festool ones do & I’ve never needed to secure them 👍.

I have a pair of wnev linear clamps, and on my "MFT" - the top is from a German seller via amazon, 20mm holes - a pair of those clamps just pushed into the holes, without star knob. Holds a "2 by 4" to hand plane it just fine. With a not - so - sharp Record #4. So it depends on the hole tightness.
But now I remember the same holes are too tight for some Chinese 20mm bench dogs. I can push the dogs in, but I need pliers to get out, so those dogs are sitting in some box...

Hold down clamps currently 33 bucks here in the US, down from 60. Still a decent price but i think i'll wait for the 11/11 sale and see what they are at then. Thanks for the video!
