A popular recent entry into the clamping market makes a highly cost effective alternative to aluminum T-slots: Microjig offers clamps and other hardware designed to fit inside a dovetail slot routed into a wooden substrate. Their system is branded, "Matchfit." They offer a basic kit that includes clamps and a proprietary dovetail bit. You can make endless clamping tables and jigs without spending a single penny on aluminum T-slots.

I just came across your been working with wood for quite some we are going to try to make a business out of it again. How thick would you recommend the top to be for the dog style clamps? I'll be making a combination assembly- outfeed table and would like to add some dog holes to it.

An economical way to achieve the functionality of a woodworking vice and stops is to buy a double pipe clamp. Outfit the clamping screw end with a thick (2x) wooden vice jaw with one or two dog holes bored down through the top; bore two holes for the pipes through the apron of your bench and attach the other end of the pipe clamp to the pipes from inside the apron. Then bore one or two series of dog holes down the length of the bench in line with the holes in the wooden vice jaw. Many companies offer inexpensive low profile plastic bench dogs that fit 3/4" diameter holes.

Wish you would’ve shown some inline clamps like the Veritas, or the cheaper version from taytools! Also taytools has the dog hole style fclamp at a great price! Armor tools also make some great dog hole accessories and clamps as well! Would love to see another video showing more dog hole workholding options! Love your videos!
