We're just rediscovering everything learned in Factorio at this point. When are we getting city blocks?

What's best is a combination of trains and belts, if you're using farms then spread out your farms and use trains to transport them to crafting area via trains those crafting areas won't be flooded constantly and won't need to transport items superfast so it's a good idea to use belts there as it makes processing easier.

Use Vaults like belts. They can input and output items instantly, effectively turning it into an item teleporter.

Love the trains of create to move stuff across big lengths of terrain but in the smaller setups if the game cant handle all the belts, why not use the vanilla ways of moving stuff? Watching the video I cant stop myself and think that this is minecraft at the end of the day and vanilla minecraft is still in the game!

People move stuff in vanilla minecraft in many ways; hoppers, minecarts, water streams, water columns, ice paths, shulkers, (or more technical ways like piston bolts and shulkers unloaders) all of these are used in massive amounts of items and they dont reduce fps or tps if managed correctly. All of this combined with the create machines could mean an even greater and faster way of doing stuff!

This is EXACTLY the tech I needed for my one-belt factory. I can't figure out a way to ensure all ingredients will eventually go by, but now I don't have to! Contraptions are the storage, the sorter, AND the belt!

biggest reason not to use belts is i've had them break before along chunk borders when chunks were loading in extremely slowly during bad server lag. it causes a giant mess, and it's why i always chunk-align my machines as well in case it happens

Cool stuff with the trains. I'd love to see a compacted storage system using them; like an automatically sorted storage system with a train that drops off items when you tell it to, like a glorified shulker unloader

another thing to improve belt speed and efficiency is using weighted ejectors that only launch items when at 64 stack, instead of having belts with clumps of like 13 items at a time

ok i guess ill make one of the most expensive things in create to move my five pieces of sugarcane

I mean, there’s other methods of fixing belts such as making the Brass Funnels spit out a stack each so that way the belt can flow smoothly again

Great Video! I never would have thought to use trains for a sorting system like this.

alternatively: just do belts better, they can take stacks and accelerate instantly around 90 degree turns at whatever the maximum rotation speed is

This is a really helpful tip. I really want to spend more time on trains and somehow I couldn't decide what to use them for. This is a very clear use; simply replace conveyors anywhere I can and I open up all sorts of wacky designs and emergent gameplay.

Trains are really op they require no power are can do anything

Lumberjack_king

but conveyors are much cheaper and you need a ton of train tracks anyways, i think it depends on the amount of items and the distance needed

How about useing minecart contraption (huge vault moved by a simple minecart) for item transport? The logic would be more complex probably but i belive they are lag friendlyer
