I’m Assyrian and the way my mom made it was always with small pieces of cubed beef, dill, basmati rice, tomatoes, tomato paste, onions, garlic and citric acid (I know some people use tamarind) and spicy peppers for a kick. She also hand picked the grape leaves. Literally so good- it’s spicy, oily and delicious.

That’s the first time I’ve ever seen how they are made!! So impressive!! Stuffed grape leaves have been one of my favourite snacks forever😍

I used to live next door to a woman from Iran and she was the best cook ever. The first time she made Dolmas I was hooked. Thank you for showing how to make them. I’ve found that with dishes like this, practice makes perfect.

The way you place the rolls in the pot with the veggies on the bottom is SUCH a wonderful idea!

We always gather around the pot and roll the dolmas as a family. It’s really fun and we finish pretty quickly with all of us helping. Ramadan Mubarak

That looks so good. I’ve only had grape leaves once from a Greek family friend but she moved away. I’ve always wanted to have them again.

I've been introduced to grape leaves with rice as a child, as it is also a greek specialty and my father always bought massive amounts of them. Not many people in my country like the taste of it but I always loved it.

This was great 👍 I've been cooking vegetarian Dolma (Sufi) for years and always used broken grape leaves. Never thought to put tomato and potato. So simple.
