I grew up with not only stuffed Grape Leaves, but all the other middle eastern Syrian recipes…..I loved to eat my mom’s grape leaves with Home made Laban ( home made Yougart)…. Middle Eastern foods are the best & very for your great website..

My buddies grandmother was from some old country, Greece or turkey I don’t know but she would make these and we would eat on them for two days. We were about 10 and I’m 51 now. Great great dish. Came here so I can make them, really like the pork chop idea.

I had the pleasure of haveing these while watching clash of the titans as a kid. I was told it was a Greek dish. Doesn't matter to me where they came from. They are great.

Sorry Maureen my mom makes the best grape leaves that I've ever tasted. Her recipe came from Ammatour Lebanon where she was born. She unfortunately passed away this year January and I wish I would have videoed her making them. Love you Mom

Interesting video. Yet no instruction on what goes in the meat and rice mixture.

I never had but one. My sweetheart's mama made some one time. I was only about 7 years old and I insisted I remove the grape leaf. In my defense, I didn't like turnip greens or collards, and the leaf looked like a collard. I always wanted to look this up. I remember it being one of those flavorful experiences that I didn't get to experience very often. It looks great with the leaf on it, now. I bet I could eat a pot FULL of them.

I think I've mentioned this before but it's a lot faster if you put the leaf in the left hand and fill and roll with the right hand. With practice it can be done with one hand. Also, have you tried using a pressure cooker. Just use the heat and time recommended for rice. It's faster than stove top and they cook more even because the heat through the pot is more even.

Thank you for posting this! Such a pleasure, watching you two cooking together. I'm growing a grapevine so I can make these in Costa Rica with fresh leaves. Can fresh leaves be frozen for later use? Thanks! -Carlos Sandino

"Dolma" is turkish food. The Greeks are making a name change and trying to add some of our food to their culture.

I love your cookbook. I’m Lebanese also and come from good cooks also.

I’m wondering why you add chicken broth and lemon juice to the pot in your YouTube video. Yet in your cookbook you don’t say to do that.

Can you please tell me the measurements for the broth and lemon juice. I’d like to try it.

Your cookbook is beautiful. Continued success.
