This is crazy. Definitely the parents fault for sure. Not for where she placed the gun but the fact that she raised this kid to not respect peoples personal property and touch things that dont belong to them. My sons know exactly where i store mine and they know how to use them. Key difference is that my kids appreciate life and know that the dangers associated with not treating a firearm with some degree of reverance sometimes lead to irreversible damage or death. My kids dont touch any of my things because i took the time to raise them and didnt get them a phone before they could talk.

Parents should be charged if their kids under 18 steal their gun and shoots someone. The gun should have been empty, the safety switched on, and in a locked gun case or gun LOCK BOX with key code, put in a place that the kid could not reach much less, be able to unlock it at all!
