So the t bar row is a great chest supported option to build up your back, but which handles are more effective? Well, if your goal is rear delts, then you’re much better off using the neutral grip handles since these allow your elbows to flare out roughly 45 degrees aligning best with their orientation. This will also involve a little bit more of the lats, since keeping your elbows tucked in disadvantages the other parts of your back. That being said, if you’re more focused on traps and rhomboids, then you’re much better off using the wide grip handles, since these allow your elbows to flare roughly 60-70 degrees better aligning your arm path with these fibers. But regardless, just be aware that all parts of your back will work using both grips, it’s just a slight emphasis on certain muscles.

As a general rule when it comes to back training, the more flared out your elbows, the more work from your traps and rhomboids, and the more tucked your elbows, the more work from your lats. And for rear delts, 45 degrees is best 👍

Chest supported dumbbell rows are also very effective. I grow my back exponentially over the last nine months doing those.
