With each live presentation of my bookThe Mindful Vegan: A 30 Day Plan for Finding Health, Balance, Happiness, and Peace, I almost always conclude by showing this short video.

It provides an excellent overview of the key points of:

~ mindfulness meditation practice
~ the effects of mindfulness meditation on what is taking place in our brains
~ how minduflness meditation practice effects our well-being and equanimity
~ the benefits of mindfulness meditation for stress reduction
I give this video 5 stars for helping to advance the message of the value of mindullness meditation practice for happier, healthier, more peaceful and balanced lives.

Great report from Anderson. Lani, so Sunday I spent 3 hours by my broken-down car....waiting in hot Florida sun for tow truck. I was thirsty and overheated. THEN...then...I realized I was not upset. I thought: "Oh, wow. Lani's book is helping me stay calm and in neutral mindset." THANK YOU.

Any form of meditation that requires focus or concentration, i.e. focusing on the breath, burns energy as opposed to be accumulating energy.

Mindfulness is the beginning...

No-mind is the end....
It's shifting from living unconsciousnessly through the mind and thoughts; to living through awareness, consciously.

The mind is the great deceiver. It promises everything and delivers nothing but illusions.
Awareness is the truth of one's being; it is reality. Not illusion.

Living a lie, falsehood.
Living truth, reality.
It's your choice. 🕉

"Mindfulness" is a watered-down version of the more stringent, rigorous teachings of eastern philosophies and religions. It has been watered down because western societies and cultures are not strong or disciplined enough for anything more. It is a very commercialized, feel-good enterprise. "When you're washing your hands, feel the warm water and soap on your hands." "When you're peeling carrots, be in the moment and focus on the carrots." Westerners can barely even do this. Mindfulness ignores and fails to delve into the issues and dynamics of our conceptual selves, self-survival and self preservation...the real drivers of our base sadness and suffering. JKZ knows these things, however, he also knows that the western mind is simply not up to the task. Nisargadatta said: "A common man is not fit for this, " referring to the real hard work required to eradicate illusion and suffering. I guarantee that none of the silicon valley celebs in this video are practicing mindfulness today, though they all probably say they do.
